Wanted to show you just a few small projects I worked on this weekend! The first time I saw this technique used was by Sherry @ http://nominimalisthere.blogspot.com/ she did this to a pair of large candlesticks and the result was awesome!! These candlesticks came from Hobby Lobby, they were 50% off so they were only $5.00 a piece. Can't beat that 2 for the price 1!!
Here's what they looked like when I bought them.
I wanted them to have a patina look to them so I painted them first with paint that I already had on hand.
Now on to the messy stuff! I used spackle and with my fingers I just rubbed it all over it.
I let it dry overnight and then sanded it with a sanding sponge the next day. I was going to add a glaze but I really like how they look this way.
Can't wait to use these with my Easter tablescape!
Now this I see being done by so many of you out their and LOVE IT! Wrapping plain glass votive holders in burlap. I bought these two in Pier 1 for a $1 each I'm going back to get two more! I always have burlap and twine on hand.
Thought I'd sneak this in too! I did this a while ago using my absolute favorite ribbon. It reminds me of vintage grain sack. These sconces hang in my family room near the fireplace.
So what projects did you work on this weekend? I would love to here about them! Martina
