That looks great Martina. We had ours professionally painted, too. They put a plastic wall around the whole perimeter of the kitchen and put paper on the ceilings and floors and sprayed all of them and then distressed and stained them. Way better than what we could have done.
Looks awesome! Your kitchen is gorgeous!
I love it! It turned out wonderful! I've been contemplating doing the same thing.
A couple of years ago I added the bead board but left it white. I may get brave enough to change it now. You have inspired me!
Beautiful result! I love the look of black cabinetry.
That turned out fantastic, Martina! What a great grounding piece it is now! Love it! The difference it makes to the kitchen is amazing. Who'd have thought just painting the island black would do that. : )
So pretty and much more of a statement in the space.
LOVE LOVE LOVE it!! It really gives your kitchen a custom look now! And I'm the same way when I get something in my head....LOL!!
It's absolutely gorgeous, Martina! The black island looks so dramatic in your kitchen. I haven't seen beadboard painted black and I love the way it looks. Your hard work has paid off!! A real show piece!
I like the new look too, Martina. Beautiful transformation!...Christine

The black really transformed the island and the space. It looks great.
I love the contrast of the island against the white cabinets. Looks fantastic.
Hi Martina, it came out just great. I just love the contrast in colors! It's amazing how it transformed the entire kitchen.

My island is black. Love it, such an anchor for the kitchen. Makes it look bigger? I thought black was supposed to be slimming. I guess not in the kitchen!
Love the black island! When we had our kitchen painted and glazed creamy white, we had the island done in black. It definitely sets everything off beautifully. Linda
Beautiful transformation Martina. Your kitchen looks great, very elegant, with such terrific island as a focal point.

Looks wonderful! Just like in our kitchen! We bought our island black, and then had cabinets put in, and they are in white. I think you'd like it!
Oh my goodness - I love it!! What an amazing difference it makes by painting it a strong contrasting color! Well done, well done, well DONE! It really makes it look so custom and rich. Definitely got me thinking about my own kitchen cabinet possibilities now...

Okay you really got me thinking here Martina. I have the same kitchen color scheme and I LOVE your new island! I could do this, would just have to convince the hubs to let me order new paintable drawer fronts. Wish me luck!
xoxo,
Kim
I just love it. I've contemplated painting my own island black but my cabinets are stained so... I don't want a dark kitchen so... I still leave it alone - someday I'll choose a color and PAINT it! :) Looks great though.
