~Dresser Reveal~

One down 4 more pieces to go!! I am so happy with the way this dresser turned out, my daughter is too! I love the look of pine furniture, but this piece over the years started to get an orangey color that I was not diggin. The pieces in Mackenzie's room are our original bedroom furniture before we went and bought our new set in darker wood.

BEFORE:
AFTER:
I used AS chalk paint in Pure White and waxed with the clear wax. I didn't want this piece heavily distressed so I just sanded around the edges of the drawers and this decorative fan that's on the middle drawer.

I did sand a little heavier on the top for a worn look.
Now I can't wait to get the walls painted!!
 One more before & after...
Now that the dresser is finished I'm working on the mirror that goes with it.
Here's a peek...
Thanks so much for stopping by, have a super week!!

What a huge difference a bit of paint can make! I'm not a fan of that orangey-pine look either!
Cannot wait to see when it's all done and in place!

Martina-That turned out gorgeous...and just enough distressing to make it interesting. Sometimes when there is too much distressing I think you lose the "lines" of the piece. GREAT job- I can't wait to see the other pieces. xo Diana

It looks so fresh and updated! I am looking forward to warmer weather so I can start our dresser and two night tables. I had planned to strip and restain the tops. Now seeing your tops painted I'm not so sure. How many pieces can you get painted with one can of AS? Hope you share the full room when it is done.

Martina, the dresser looks gorgeous! What a beautiful transformation! We did the same thing with our daughter's bedroom furniture a few years back and she is still enjoying it to this day. Can't wait to see your room finished!

Becca Bertotti said...

Fantastic, Martina! I love it ... no wonder your daughter is thrilled! Did you have to add a primer coat first because of the knots? I've had readers email me asking about chalk paint with pine; and, I've told them that they may want to consider slapping a coat of Zinsser on first to cover the rugged knots.
