~Evening Sky~

The other night after the rain, the temps cooled down so we enjoyed our tea on the deck. We don't have to many nights during the summer that we can do that. I quickly grabbed my camera to get a shot of this pretty sky!
This is how it started out...
  turning into this...

~Red Ticking~

A few weeks ago I ordered two new red ticking pillow covers from Ann ~ On Sutton Place. I am sure most of you know Ann and her beautiful work, but for those of you who don't you must head on over to her shop!
Look how pretty she wraps her merchandise before shipping.
I bought them to use in our sitting room and just love how they look on the white slipcovered chairs.
Ann does amazing work! I wish she lived closer, I would love to have her to do a few bigger projects for me.

We had a quick thunderstorm pass through earlier and look what it left behind.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Your visits and sweet comments make my day!

~Reflection of the Evening Sun~

I love how the sun's reflection makes a room look. To me these make the prettiest shots! This shot was taken last night around 8:00pm right before the sun was getting ready to set. Love the way this looks.
Have a wonderful weekend and stay cool!!

Kindergarten Graduation & Victoria's 6th B-Day!

I can't believe my baby graduated from kindergarten last week! I was so involved with her class this past year being the class mom and also volunteering in her class two days a week and with her being my last one to graduate kindergarten this hit me really hard:(
Let's just say between me and my mom it was a good thing we had  kleenex on hand!!
I set the gym up the night before which made the next morning much more relaxing.
I ordered wrapped Hershey bars to hand out to all the little graduates.
A poster board filled with pictures of the kids at all the events this past year. The parents really like seeing this.
Here comes our little graduate:)  Let the water works begin!! I think the hubby filled up too!
One of the kindergarten teaches that is retiring this year. All my kids had her and loved her, so I made sure I took a picture of all of them with her!
Then on Saturday we celebrated Victoria's 6th birthday! She wanted a pool party with her friends.
 My little fish.
We even rented a jumpy castle for the kids.
                     Fun was had by all!!
I didn't post to many party pics in order to respect the privacy of the other children.
Hope your all having a great week!

Some changes in the Master Bath

Since I made a few changes recently in the master bedroom it only seemed right to make a few in the master bath too...right?!?
I was so excited to get this hung I totally forgot to take a pic of what was hanging here before, I know I'm a bad blogger!
I found this pretty canvas in Hobby Lobby a few weeks ago. It was $60 but I got it for 40% off. I had the metal scroll in my stash that I added above it.
The scroll piece was originally brown but out came the paint and I painted it with AS Arles then heavily distressed it.
Another change that I made was taking down the white valance I had hanging in here and replaced it with this pretty lead glass piece that I found on ebay.
I love this look so much better!!

One change leads to another and another.....

All because of this...

Pictures were taken from the foyer to use in here on the gallery wall, so I needed to fill the empty spaces back up and I made a few changes in the process:)
A few frame makeovers were needed. Found these wood frames in Michaels for 1/2 off so they only cost me $10 each. I bought four of them...
and turned them into this... still lovin the green and it's a great accent color in our foyer and really pops on the neutral walls. I added a little antique gold rub & buff around the inner part. Love how they turned out.
I love cottage and landscape prints and found these Currier & Ives "American Homestead" 4seasons lithographs on Ebay. This series was originally printed between 1860 and 1870. My reproduction copies were printed in the 1950's.
That took care of filling this wall.
These two smaller prints were used for the gallery wall in the living room also, but I had one of the larger Thomas Kinkade prints left over in the switch so I placed it here. I hope I'm not confusing you guy's too much because there's still more!
From this...
to this...
 We're almost done, I promise!
Last but not least, this wall looked like this for quite a few years. Not anymore!
Now it looks like this...
I wanted a more simple look for this wall.
This is another Currier & Ives print that I bought off of ebay, this one is "American Farm Scenes". I took it to Hobby Lobby to be framed.  I also had them add a white matte. The frame was black so I painted it AS Coco and waxed it with the clear and dark wax.
            Change is fun!
                         Have a super week!!

This is it!! Hopefully!

Hopefully this is it, because I sure am tired of filling in all the nail holes and painting this wall over and over again:( This wall has gone though so many changes in the last year and I'm just never 100% happy with it in the end. Anybody else have a problem spot in their home? I love my blue plates that I had hanging in here but they looked lost on this wall. This wall is not only wide but it's also high, the ceiling in here is a 14ft tray so it needed something more substantial.
Here's the new look...

I'm happy with the way this gallery wall turned out, especially having the different colored frames.
Let's hope it stays this way for a while!

Now I'm off to go and fill all the other holes where I took these pictures from:(
Thanks so much for stopping! I can't believe it's Wednesday already these weeks are flying by!

Not so matchy matchy anymore!

If there is one thing that I would NEVER do again is buy a matching bedroom set!! I would buy maybe two pieces of the set and the rest would be odd pieces that were collected over time. I don't think we'll be buying a new bedroom set, so I decided to make a few small changes to get away from it looking so matchy matchy. I replaced my nightstand with this skirted table from Ballards.
Being our bed is so high I order the table 30 inches high so it would be level with the bed. You know I love my check fabric so I went with the toffee ck table skirt. Ordered a new pillow for the chair too:)

I'm really lovin this look!

Another change I made a few years ago was changing the mirror that came with my dresser to this one.
