I worked on my first paint project for the year...I also scored on my first trip to my favorite antique store!

I always loved the look of a French Bouillotte candlestick lamp so when I spotted this one sitting way back in a corner in the antique store my heart started to race!!
The owner told me he just got it from a recent auction he went to.

The shade needs to be replaced...I already ordered a new one on ebay ;-) other then that this lamp is in perfect condition.

I have it in our front sitting room on the newly redone table that belonged to my grandparents.
I moved my husbands recliner in here when I bought the sectional for our family room.
This is the room my husband and son like to sit in to watch sports...so I decorated it with things he's collected over the years...more to come on that later.
This was how the table looked when I had it in our living room before I replaced it with the antique pie table...
I decided to paint it black to go with another chest that I have in here.
I tried out the chalk paint from Home Depot called Americana in Carbon. I was very happy with the way it went on and would definitely use it again.
I love seeing all the different layers come through.
One last shot at dusk...
I love the cozy feel this room has!

Great looking lamp and your little table makeover looks great too. I have also used this paint and did you know that you can buy it at Michaels? I buy it there so I can use a 40% coupon.

Very cozy looking, indeed, Martina! I love that table in black. I will have to look for that paint at Home Depot. I like to have colors like black and white in chalk paint on hand for spur of the moment projects.

I use that paint Martina, I have the blue and black and I'm using the black right now on a project that is taking longer to paint because of the cold. It's 19 here and I woke up to a couple inches of snow:)

Martina, I love the color you painted your table, and I didn't know that Home Depot carried a line of chalk paint. The lamp is the perfect accent on your table, and I love that comfy looking throw on your ottoman!

What a wonderful lamp! I didn't know you could get Chalk paint at Home Depot! It is less expensive than Annie Sloan? The table turned out great.
