Skirting Another Table

6:03PM
I loved how the table in my living room HERE looked when I added the burlap table skirt from Ballard Designs. When I saw they were having a sale a few weeks ago I decided to by another one for my family room. This time I went with the toffee check fabric. I really love how it filled this corner in now!

What is it with men and their recliners! It's OK but I vision another style their. I guess we have to keep our hubbies happy too:)

Do you like the look of a skirted table?
Thanks so much for stopping by!

I'm always a sucker for black and white checks, and this looks so cute...I have always liked the little round tables too. I hope they never go out of style, they add a little bit of color and warmth that is so easy to switch out. Great find!

Your new table skirt is so pretty! I'm with you about recliners. We have one in our office and really don't like to sit in it. My husband doesn't sit in it either because he's always working at his desk! If it were up to him, we'd have one of those big oversized recliners in our family room.

I always love a skirted table and yours looks beautiful! That fabric is fantastic and I may have to head over to the Ballards site to check out this sale myself. :-)

I love the new table skirt. And we have a leather sofa and chair in our house, so nothing wrong with leather in my book. With hubbies, we just can't go too girly in the house, but that is okay by me.

Every time I get their catalog in the mail, I yearn for that tablecloth. Men and their recliners are historical...

Have you been to my house lately...I have a skirted table with the glass on top. My hubs uses it for HIS table. Cups, plates...etc from the TV nibbles...then there is the ugly recliner...oh, I hate that thing. It is so big...for him, that I can't sit in it...I want it to go so badly...but I don't think that is happening!!

I LOVE skirted tables! My sister, Jamie has the burlap one from BD too and I love it! I love your new one too. That whole room is beautiful!

I love the look of the skirted table, very subtle change with lots of impact. Why do men always have to pick the BIGGEST recliner, it's bad enough they have to have it at all, but they always pick the biggest one they can find and it consumes the space. LOL

it looks great.. wish I had known they were having a sale. I need to skirt a table in my bedroom.
Just wanted to tell you also, how much I ADORE your rug..

Yes, I really like skirted tables. I used to have one in my family room. I actually moved it out though because I replaced it with a 3 legged table which better suited the room. Most of my furniture is slipcovered so I needed a little fabric "relief". Love the tablecloth that you got at Ballards. You can't go wrong with a neutral check.

Martina...I love the table skirt and think it ties the leather recliner in with your sofa in a nice feminine sort of way.

Believe it or not, I bought my husband a recliner a few years back. It was SO comfy but did nothing for my decor. Needless to say it's gone now!! lol!!

Jane

I do like it, Martina! I have two round decorator tables in my living room now and intend to use them in my new living room. I had gotten the burlap tablecloths several months ago from Ballards when they were on sale and I still love them. I had wanted the ones with the fringe on the bottom, but they were out of stock and I couldn't wait!

Your table skirt looks great Martina. Our recliner is a rocker too and we both use the rocker more than the recliner.

Enjoy your evening,
Gail

I love it and never did order one. Saw a nice one at the consignment store today. Still thinking about it.

Question: is it easy to add numbers to the comments. I really need to.

Hi Martina, Thank you so much for sharing your pretty new table skirt at the Open House party. It's perfect for your room. I also have the burlap one and loved it until my grandson took a magic marker to it! Have a great weekend.

I love the look of a skirted table and the look of your table cloth. It really adds a nice soft touch with the leather recliner. I have a couple of skirted tables in my house. The only thing I wish is that they were slightly larger around. But then I'd have to have a custom cloth for them. LOL... always something.

Hi Martina! I think the checked table cloth looks wonderful! And the leather doesn't bother me. (We have leather in our family room & I love it.) The room is beautiful and I like the rug and pillows too!

Thank you for linking to Potpourri Friday. I appreciated your participation. Sorry I'm so tardy in commenting, but I've been away for the past four days to the Round Rock/Warrenton antique show. I look forward to seeing you again this week!
