Adding a little BURLAP in the Living Room

I love the look burlap gives a room, and when I saw these burlap table skirts  in Ballard Designs I had to have one and I knew exactly where I was going to use it. The tables that I have in my living room were a set and I've had them about 16 years now. I don't think I want to paint them but I like how adding the table skirt to the oval table breaks up the set, it actually makes the table look round. I love this look!

I also added a burlap shade from PB to this lamp that I bought in Home Goods a few months ago. I love PB lamp shades, they have so many styles to chose from.

Hope you all are having a great week!  Martina

The tablecloth is so pretty! It looks great with the chairs. I know what you mean about not wanting to paint the tables. I have a few pieces I would like to paint, but then again, I'm not sure I really want to paint them.

I got the burlap tableclothes without the fringe last year, Martina, as the fringe ones were out of stock. I would have preferred the fringe, but the ones I got happened to be on sale at the time anyway. Since I had slipcovered my sofa with a white slipcover, I found the burlap to be a nice neutral and texture added in. I love your lampshade. That is next on my list when I find a little lamp for my new little dresser.

I've had my eye on that burlap shade at PB. It looks fabulous on your lamp. I think the lampshades they have available now are wonderful. Very neutral. Great job...your room is lovely!

I have come to love the look of burlap as well. Just bought five round tablecloths for outdoor dining and most recently bought a whole bolt of burlap fabric for whatever. I am hooked on the use of burlap myself. Loved your post, your table cloth and shade.

I love burlap details- great color and texture! Very nice choice of shade. :) I've been eying some burlap pillows on Belle Escape but haven't ordered them yet. Maybe I'll find a shade to match first! The lamp we have is similar to the one in your last photo, but black and more rounded. I think a burlap shade would probably offset the iron nicely.

Thanks for sharing!!
