A new find!

 Hi there friends...
Sorry I've been absent for the last week...I had my first experience with sciatica and let me tell you it wasn't fun!!
I couldn't get off the couch. The pain was in my lower right side and it went right down my right leg.
Now I know what my poor hubby goes through:-(
Knocked me out of commission almost all week...thank goodness that passed!
~~~
Since I was feeling better I needed to get out for awhile...so I decided to go to the indoor flea market.
I was walking up and down my favorite isles and this piece called to me...it said take me home...and so I did!
 I knew immediately where I was going to hang it even before I got home!
Above the double doors going into our sitting room.
Changing out all the gold door handles to oil rubbed bronze is on my to-do-list this year.
 This piece is quite large...old...and chippy...in my eyes perfect.
  I really need to stay away from flea markets and antique stores because things always seem to call to me and I can never say NO!!
Have a great week!
It's very pretty and a great find.
I hope the nerve pain stays cleared up.
Unfortunate. Gold is coming back in, but some of the newer golds are not brass. :( In this old house they left two old knobs. I cleaned them up and they are gorgeous, but only one could be installed, because the mechanism was not broke. They don't look how today's knobs look on the inside. Any way, my knobs are all different colors in here, because what looks "old" today are things other than the brass, unless I wanted to spend a lot.
I have sciatica as well, a gift from about 1993 when my horse tossed me so high up in the air I had time on the way down to run through a few scenarios of how to land. Alas I chose wrong- ouch!
I find that a long soak in the tub followed by a long sit on a hot rice pack can really help.
Hi Martina! I've really got out of going to the flea market but one of my things for New Years was going when it finally gets nicer weather I'm going to start back. Love what you always bring home.
Great find! Looks wonderful where you put it. I went through a sacroiliac problem in November/December that irritated the sciatica. Boy it's not fun! Glad for you that you're feeling better!
What a great architectural piece! I love it over the double doors....perfect.
Sorry about your pain. I know all too well what that feels like and I've had it before. It's just awful. I'm glad that you are doing better. A trip to the antique store is always good therapy.
Hi Martina, glad you're feeling better! Love your new find. It is an amazing piece and looks perfect where you placed it.
We too changed out all the gold hardware on the first floor to rubbed oil bronze too and I love it. We have so many doors and fixtures it was a huge under taking but so worth it.
Have fun.
