Armoire & Nightstand in Graphite

Moving right along with Mackenzie's bedroom makeover. I finished the armoire and the nightstand, just one more piece to go and then we can get started on the walls! Annie Sloans chalk paint in Graphite along with the dark wax is what I used on these two pieces.
Here's a before of the armoire...
 And now the after...

I can't wait to see these pieces up against white walls.

LOVE these knobs I found in Hobby Lobby!
I just distressed around all the raised panels and
moldings to make them stand out.
And here's the nightstand done, I used Pure White on the drawers to break it up a bit.

Added the pretty knobs from Hobby Lobby on this piece too.
I love them!!
Here is a little peek of her new bedding my mom bought her for Christmas from PB Teen. She let her pick it out. I think the newly painted furniture is going to look great with it.

We both can't wait to say bye bye to these pink walls!
Hopefully the hubs and I will get the painting done next week & I'll have a full reveal soon! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Martina, what a fantastic job on the furniture. Absolutely love it and what a great job on the raised areas. My black bookshelf would be jealous if it saw your armoire and nightstand... and it was done by the manufacturer.

Love the new look. I haven't tried the graphite yet but I really like the look of it. It's so much fun to re-do kid's rooms! Especially when they get to be involved in the choices. Can't wait to see the finished room.

I concur, your kiddo is most fortunate to have you. I love that Graphite color. I had a graphite tennis racket once and it is exactly the same color.

They both look awesome, but I'm pinning the nightstand to remind how great the black and white combo is.

The furniture looks awesome, Martina. I've never painting anything as large as an armoire. The room will definitely feel "fresh" after the new paint.

Martina, both the armoire and dresser turned out gorgeous! Can't wait to see the room complete! Yesterday I just finished painting an old desk that once was my fathers. I painted it old white and left the drawers the natural stain. Wanted to remember what it looked like when it was his. Thanks for sharing with SYC.

Good luck with the painting...covering those pink walls is going to be a challenge! The bedding is perfect. Excellent choice and how fun that your Mom was a part of it. Hope you are well...are you being hit by that blizzard?

Kadee Willow said...

I LOVE black (or graphite as is the case)! Really pops with the bedding! And a lovely change from the all white look! Your daughter will be thrilled when everything is completed!

Sue said...

Wow, did this turn out nicely, Martina! I used Graphite for a bedroom set myself. Did you have any issues with the dark paint not smoothing out as well as the other ASCP colors? My stockist said this is a common occurrence for that color. Maybe I am too much of a perfectionist or something, but I'm thinking of re-painting all three pieces over. :-( Not looking forward to that.

Gorgeous! I love the graphite on the armoire and the bedside table. I look forward to seeing it with white walls. And those knobs are gorgeous! Too bad we don't have a HL here.
