Here's the Before...
and here's the After....
I used AS chalk paint (of course) I painted the whole thing in old ochre and then randomly painted over it in Chateau grey to give it an old worn look. I then sanded and distressed it. I used my mocha glaze by valspar, heavy on the legs and on the top and sides I wiped most of it off. After that dried I waxed the whole piece with AS clear wax.
Look at that shine!
Hmm.... I'm thinkin this would look good in MY living rm.
It doesn't even look like the same table to me, and my cousin loved it!! Now she asked if I would paint two shelves for her. Why not, it's another blog post right! Thanks so much for stopping by!

You did a fantastic job! I have a plain jane sofa table behind my sofa in the bay window area that you don't really see, but one day maybe I'll try my hand at painting it. You only see the top of the table right now. You made that table look so much more expensive! I'm sure your cousin will love it.

It has a new life now, Martina! These tables are so versatile, I don't blame you for wishing to keep it. My daughter is taking one of mine and we'll see how long she lives with it as is before she asks me about painting it!

Turned out beautifully!
Martina, that looks great and sure they will appreciate you transforming that for them. Have you tried the brown wax yet instead of the glaze? Apply clear wax first and then the brown or mix the two. The chalk paint gets such a wonderful patina with the waxes.
You are right, it looks totally different. I love it!! Maybe you need to teach your cousing how to paint. There's a blog post idea!!

Wow, it is just beautiful!!! I am curious, you said you used a glaze on the legs then waxed the table. Did you wax the table before putting on the glaze also or you put the glaze straight on the chalk paint? I put dark wax on a small section of a sample wood piece to see what would happen when it is directly applied to chalk paint and it didn't look good at all. Just curious if glaze works differently..
