My Chalk Paint finally Arrived!!

I couldn't wait for this to come, I know it's the new must have paint out here in blogland and now I know why!! LOVE IT! I ordered Paris grey and old white for now and the clear wax. My son's room was the first to get "chalked"!

I was so excited to get started I forgot about taking before shots!

The shelf above his dresser my dad made for me years ago and was stained the same color as his dresser. I did that in the old white and added the clear wax. Next was the narrow dresser in the corner, I had already painted that once before a red but it was to dark so I first painted it in the old white and then brushed on the Paris grey but I let a lot of the white come through.

Here's a better look. I love how the red comes through after I distressed it.

I'm thinking of painting his nightstand in the old white, what do you think?

Even the picture frame got chalked!! I love this stuff!

Now I see why everyone raves about this stuff. I think it's the best paint on the market to paint furniture, and I love how fast it dries. That's a good thing for impatient me!!
Have a great Memorial Day weekend,  Martina

I just got my second shipment about 15 minutes ago!! lol Using in my master bedroom redo.

I think you should NOT paint the nightstand because it looks great just the way it is!!

I do like the little touches that you have added with the chalk paint. I also love the stripes on the wall. Cute room, Martina.

Martina, love your newly chalk painted pieces. I think his nightstand would look good white. I am going to probably do some pieces in the guest room with this paint. Have a good weekend.

The whole room looks so crisp and fresh. I too like the way the bit of red shows where you distressed it!

I just got mine this week, too, Martina! I'm very excited to get started on my headboard. I got the Old White, too. It looks so good on Kim's bookcases in the close up she shows. Did you clear wax all your pieces?

Martina, it turned out great! I guess I'm the last in blogland to not have ordered any yet... but that's about to change after seeing everybody's fabulous results!

Looks great! So excited to see what you did with it. I just ordered my first batch (Paris Gray, Old White and Graphite), and can't wait to get it. I would leave the nightstand the way it is. I like the warmth of the wood, but I'm sure whatever you do will look great :)

You have a beautiful home. My girlfriend loves looking at all these blogs, gets ideas, and then sweet talks me into helping her with her home projects. I find that I have to comment about painting your son's furniture. I think that you need to talk to your son about this. As a man I have to tell you that the tall chest you painted white looks like a lingerie chest now. Perhaps if you allowed more of the red to show thru then it would look a bit more masculine. I grew up with a younger sister and her room had white furniture while my room was maple. That may be why I think white bedroom furniture is for daughters! J and I love what you have done with your home, and I hope you don't take this as a negative comment... just one man giving his opinion!

I love your son's room and the changes you've made. That paint looks fantastic. I haven't come across anything like that in South Africa. It might take a while to cross the Atlantic. In the meanwhile I will just stick to admiring all your projects! Have a lovely weekend my friend. x Sharon
