~Updated Lighting~

 Hi there friends...
Since the renovations on the first floor have been finished and everything was put back together the one thing that kept bugging me was the lighting over the table in our breakfast area.
~~~
When I got the new Ballard catalog and saw all the lighting was 15% off I bit the bullet and ordered this lantern I had my eye on!
 Before...
Love the After!
It comes in three different colors...I choose the brick red.
 It seems every time we make an update in this house it's never a quick fix!!
 The new lantern is quite heavy so we had to replace the original plastic electrical box with this metal one.
Soooooooo...
while we were at it I was finally able to get the light centered over the table.
Not having it centered before drove me nuts!!
Instead of patching up the hole and having to repaint the entire ceiling I chose to use a ceiling medallion...which of course got a paint treatment of it's own!
 I love the way the medallion turned out.
I used AS Versailles and Chateau Grey along with both clear and dark wax to give it an old layered look.
Now I have something else in mind for the the kitchen...the wheels are always spinning lol!!
Have a super week!
Love your new light, Martina! The ceiling medallion looks great, too. I love the color with the light. I just ordered a couple of things from the new Ballard's catalog, too. I have been putting it right into the recycling bin when it comes, to avoid buying, but I couldn't resist looking through this recent one. And, see, I ordered stuff!
That looks GREAT. I love the color in your setting and that medallion is perfect! It must have been off just a little bit if you could cover it with the medallion. I think having it off a little bit is worse than it being 3 feet out of the way. lol Not really-but I know how you felt!
Have a great night- xo Diana
All your fall decorating is so pretty! Even though it is not Fall per se, I really love your collection of walking canes.
I love the lantern and wish I could have something hanging from our ceiling. But, in our little house, the dining room table sometimes gets removed for parties and then someone would hit their head.
