A Wall of Red Transferware~Adding to my Collection

 Hi there friends... Happy Labor Day!
I can't believe this is our last week of summer vacation :-(
It's back to school on Thursday.
While I'm ready to get back into some routines...I'm not ready for all the craziness to begin!
~~~
 I love the way these red transferware dishes look around the mirror in my dining room and wanted to add more.
 Here's how it looked before...
 I bought these from Nancy of
If your looking for transferware her shop is the place to go!!
Now for the After...
 Here's a closeup of the new editions...they're the three on top.
 These three I found while thrifting.
 I love how they filled in the empty wall space and how they made the display look more substantial.
 Have a super week...I'll be enjoying our last few days of calmness!!
Your additional transferware plates look great, Martina! Funny...when I saw your first photo, I immediately thought of Nancy's home! Your plates enhance the beauty of your mirror perfectly. Love it!
Martina, Your red transferware looks sooo good, and the addition of the new pieces even makes it better. Can one ever have too much transferware? :) Love it!
I love the pop of red against your neutral wall color--it's a beautiful effect! Your red-striped table runner is the perfect accent to that gorgeous wall. Nicely done!
I've never heard this called transferware before but my Nan had some of this type of china WAY back in the day! She had blue willow pattern too but the few red pieces she had were always my favourite. She had a set of 3 large oval platters and would use them for parties with mountains of lovely food. I have no idea what happened to them, what a shame, they would look great on my wall!
I love your collection, thanks for prompting my little trip down memory lane.
I'm right there with you on the school thing. I went back on August 18th, but my girls didn't start until the 27th. It's been two weeks of juggling around here. Hopefully, we'll settle into a routine now. Good luck with everything. Your new arrangement looks so pretty!
The new transferware addition looks perfect. What a beautiful picture you captured of the dining table viewing the wall with transferware. The school buses are running today around here- school has begun!
Your dining room is beautiful, Martina! I'm so inspired to go lighter in my dining/living room...looked through your archives and couldn't find the brand/name of your paint. Do you remember? The addition of red transferware really pulls your room together. I am totally going to copy you!
Martina, I love your collection of red transferware and how you've displayed it. I saw a lazy susan with red transferware pieces in it at the auction on Monday. I was lusting over it but I didn't stick around to see what it went for at auction. It would would have looked beautiful on your table with your display behind it, but I'm not sure I could have parted with it!
You are so right that Nancy has an amazing selection of transferware...I am so glad that you found some great pieces to add to your collection...the display is incredibly beautiful !!
Hi,
I hope you fill in the whole wall with red plates! That would be drop dead gorgeous. I loved the chintz type in the first picture, too. Perhaps you can add them back later. I think this is unusual and very striking with the gold.
Now, that is perfect!!! The 3 new plates really finished it off, it is nicely balanced but not overdone. Love the new platter in the center.....
Hi Martina,
I absolutely love the addition of the platters at the top. I think it completed the arrangement. It looks absolutely beautiful. I love the overall shape. In one house I lived in, which was my favorite dining room, I had a cow painting and a similar arrangement around it where it almost had a triangular shape like yours does. I think it's so unique! I love the reflection in the mirror too. It just looks sooooo gorgeous!!!
