Can you believe I gave you guys a little peek at some of the changes being made in our master bedroom way back in March and I'm just finally getting around to show you the room now!!
That's what happens when you have to many projects going on at once!

Home Decorators I LOVE the soft look it gave the room.
The next photo is a reminder of what our old bed looked like.
I still love the look of this bed but I was ready for a little change.

The bench I made over way back when...was placed at the foot of the bed.
I added white ironstone plates above the pictures. The white coverlet I had for years...the buffalo check duvet and shams I ordered from Ikea when I ordered the blue ticking set for my son's room... and the burlap bedskirt came from Ballards.
That pretty pillow was made for me by Linda...she's Kristen from the blog Sophia's mom.
Linda made the pillows in my family room here too...she does beautiful work!
She also made me a pretty topper for my skirted bedside table.
I added the other glass lamp to my dresser...I love the way the two look on there.

The antique basket I found at the Country Living Fair was added to the top of my husbands highboy along with the other pillow Linda made for me.

What a great job you have done in the master bedroom! I especially love the the buffalo check...maybe I need to order these for my son's room now that I've seen yours! The dresser with the mirror hung on the wall...I've so got to do this!

OMGosh, I just found EXACTLY what I have been looking for! I LOOOOVE that duvet!!! It is the perfect lolor and pattern! Did you do Kim's trick of folding 2 pillows in there to make it so fluffy and full? Your room looks beautiful. I would LOVE to replace our (matching) nightstands with a chest like you have and a table on the other side. Thanks for all the inspiration!!!!

Very soft and lighter looking, Martina. I love your new headboard. That alone makes your room seem lighter. I love your wall color. Do you remember what it is called? I would like to stay neutral in our bedroom wall color but was thinking of going just a bit darker.
I didn't know Ikea had checks! I'm making a list in my head of things I would like to get at Ikea and I'm going to have to look at some of their bedding. I bought a sheet set for our guest bedroom last year but that's the only linens I've ever gotten from them.
It's so beautiful, Martina! You did an amazing job and that headboard does make the room softer. The pillows are so pretty and I have been eyeing that bedding from Ikea - love buffalo checks and the price is so good!

we must be twins b/c i have the buffalo check duvet and shams on the bed in one of my yet-to-be-revealed guest rooms! i ordered a burlap headboard from ballards and the room is basically "done" with the exception of my hanging some stuff on the walls....

It is beautiful, Martina. Very restful and soothing! The pillows are gorgeous, too. BTW, my rug pad came yesterday. It's perfect and doesn't give off any odor. I was worried the rubber backing might smell. And, I have a freshly cleaned Oriental to boot! Have a great weekend.

Wow! How beautiful and fresh everything in your master bedroom looks! You have so many pretty touches in there that I would not think to do (but are great ideas) like the basket turned sideways with a pillow in it and hanging plates around pictures to make the effect look larger. Just lovely!
