Creating a Cozy Corner
Hi Friends...hope your all having a great week!
I'm still playing around in the family room! I created another little seating area with this new chair I just bought.
The picture below is how this corner looked before. It never felt complete to me, it's hard to tell from this next picture but there is a lot of space between the couch and the table. It was definitely missing something...
...how about adding another chair and moving the table to the corner. Much better!
I bought the chair and cushion in
Pier 1.
The high back makes it very comfy.
Added a pillow from my stash. Picked up this pretty multicolored bunch of tulips at the grocery store yesterday.
Now this corner feels... cozy and complete!
Thanks so much for stopping by!

~Feathers~
Happy Monday friends...
I never would of thought to accessorize with feathers until I started blogging, and I have to tell you I love the look they give a container, urn, silver pitcher, etc etc...
I forgot all about this little metal urn I bought from One Kings Lane last year. Out it came, then a quick trip to Hobby Lobby to buy some feathers... Lovin it!!
Now I'll be walking around the house looking for more things to add feathers to!

Burlap Lampshades for a Steal!
I was in my favorite store again the other day, can you guess which one!?! If you guessed Home Goods you were correct!
I am always drawn to their lamp section. Look at these fabulous burlap lampshades I found for only $20 dollars each.
They look just like the one I bought in Pottery Barn but for a fraction of the cost!
Here's the one from Pottery Barn...
The new shades give these lamps a whole new look!

I'm at it again!
I was going to totally change the look of my coffee table and tv console, I even talked it over with my friend Yvonne at Stone Gable because I love the way she transformed her new buffet!
Well I decided to keep them Coco (Annie Sloan chalk paint) but they did get a little face lift.
This picture below is the BEFORE shot...
and here is the AFTER. I gave the whole table a fresh coat of Coco and then did a wash using Old White. After that dried it was waxed with both the clear and dark wax.
After that was done I moved on to the tv console. This first shot is the BEFORE. You can see the inside of the panels had quite a bit of Old White dry brushed on them...not anymore. I wasn't diggin it anymore, so I brushed a little Coco over them and waxed it with just the clear wax.

Romantic Homes Magazine
I'm still pinching myself!!
Back in December I was contacted by Beth Livesay from Romantic Homes magazine asking if I would like to be featured! Of course I said YES!! She asked me to send her some pictures and said they would be going in the April issue.
I was so excited, but was afraid to share this news with you guys just in case I was dreaming all of this LOL!
I know a lot of you already saw this because I received quite a few emails saying congrats :)

HomeGoods Happy!
Yep, that was me yesterday! I can never seem to come out of that store empty handed!!
A basket full of goodies...couldn't pass up this wire basket and when I saw the cabbage plates I had to add a few more pieces to my collection. I use all my pieces for my Easter table. Loved the red check tablecloth, perfect for the kitchen.
Next up this cute sign to fill the empty wall near the window in Mackenzie's room. Now her room is complete!
How could I pass up these sweet little copper tea pots! I bought two of them and placed them on the kitchen shelves near the window.

Adding some PIZAZZ to a plain black tray!
Crafty I am not, but I think I gave this plain black tray a little pizazz when I added this black and white zig zag(Chevron) fabric to the inside of it.
I even finished it off with some white roping. After cutting the fabric to size I used Mod Podge to glue it to the tray. The Mod Podge didn't work to well with the white roping so I used my glue gun for that.
I bought the fabric and roping in Hobby Lobby.
Now Mackenzie has a spot to gather some of her favorite things.

See that white ceramic box, I made that in ceramics class at least 30 years ago. She uses it for all her earrings.
Much cuter for a teenager's room, don't you think!
Hope your all having a super week...there is snow in our forecast for today and tonight:(
