Then it went to this... I used AS Old White
I just ordered a new rug for this room, so I figured it's the perfect time to change things up a little. You know what that means... out comes the paint brush, and this table was first on the list.
Here's it's new look...
I used AS Coco (love this color)! I didn't want to distress it heavily so I just distressed the details to make them stand out and a little around the edges on the top.
Love how the old white comes through along with the original color.
It doesn't stop here!
After bringing it back into the sitting room it just didn't seem right to me. This is a very casual room and the piece looked to perfect. So out came the sander again! I know this look might not be for everyone but it goes with the style of the room so much better now.
I sanded it until I got a layered worn look.
Love it!
Boy this sure was a long post for just one little table! Hope I didn't lose anyone along the way:)

I love it Martina! I think it looks fantastic heavily distressed like that. Nice job!
Oh Martina! What a fabulous new look!! I wasn't crazy about the first look, but adding the Coco was genius! I totally love this look.

It looks good both ways, Martina. I do like how the white showed through on the details in the first pictures. It's such a pretty side table, too.
Oh, Martina, it's just gorgeous! What a pretty piece! Can't wait to see your new rug.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia :)
It's perfect! I still haven't tried AS paint, yet, but this is convincing me I need to get some asap!
Such a pretty table. The style is beautiful and I love the little carved detail down the sides. Hugs, Marty

You did a fantantic paint job It look's great. Thanks for sharing.
What a marvelous table! I love the way it turned out with the layering and distressing!
I love the shape of the table and your post about it, great paint job on it!
Hi Martina,
Great makeover!
Love that coco! Beautiful texture as well.
All the Best,
Christine
The table looks beautiful. I have not seen that color Coco before. It is gorgeous.
Gorgeous Martina! Love your home and your pretty blog. I'll be back often.
I like it all sanded up. I think I might need to get some of the coco color before I do anything else here. The warm tones of the browns are what I tend to like, and I've been using the french linen and a Caldwell slate, and those just are not right for my house even though I like them.

The ASCP Coco looks great and you had me until the sander came out! :)
Wonderful makeover, Martina! You really know your way around with paint! I like the shape of this table and it actually looks good a three ways.
XO,
Jane
It looks great! Do you put any wax or finish on it after you paint?
Martina- That turned out great. I liked it before AND after its double transformation. I'll bet it really makes the room! xo Diana

Awesome make-over Martina! I love the DISTRESSED look. Is AS coco a gray or tan? Hope you're having a wonderful day, Gail
Hi Martina,
The table transformation looks great.
I love it all shabbied up. Sometimes I think I go too far with the sander, but I love how it makes furniture looks worn and pretty.
Good job.
hugs
Sissie
Martina, I love it. Pure perfection!
Oh what a fantastic makeover.
That looks wonderful! I love the way your paint jobs are layered so nicely. You will have to show us what it looks like once it is back in use. I love to see the vignettes that you make.
I haven't tried that yet, perhaps one of these days I will.
Hugs, Cindy

Martina,
LOVE that piece and all the layers.Perfect.
I think the weathered and distressed look is perfect for a kid's area. I mean if it already looks a bit battered, they can't really ruin it any further! I love, love, love what you did with this! Have a lovely weekend x Sharon
