I made a little change to the shelf in my powder room. I had found these two mercury glass pieces in Home Goods over the summer and had planned on using them in the master bath. Well that didn't happen and they wound up in my closet until now.
This is what the shelf looked like before. It actually has been this way since we redid the bathroom almost 2 years ago. So it was definitely ready for a little change!
I was playing around in Picnik with these adding some texture and think they look kind of cool, especially if they were in a matte finish.
Maybe I'll frame them. I don't know what I am going to do when Google drops Picnik!
Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

Martina: Love the shelf. Don't you just love mercury glass? I have some candlesticks and I am in love with them. Yes - I will miss Picnik also.....It is such a friendly user program.
Have a great weekend too!
Mercury glass is our bling, isn't it? The shelf re-do is perfectly perfect!~ I love the moss ball sitting in the little bowl, brilliant idea. Your shelf has a sweet new look! Have a wonderful weekend...xoso Sandy
The shelf looks fabulous. Love it. I so need to do something in the hall bath. Hugs, Marty
Martina- It looks very nice. I love the little lift you get from making just a few small changes, don't you? I really like your photos that you altered in Picnik. xo Diana
love mercury glass, and I love the moss ball you put in it =)
That is a very sweet shelf. Love the Mercury Glass addition.
Enjoy your weekend!!
Great little changes...I would love to get a few pieces of mercury glass. Yours look so classy. I agree about Picnik. I'm devastated. I have looked at Pixlr and it's OK but not as easy as Picnik. Check it out and see what you think. Happy Weekend!
So sad about picnik, just not sure what I will do! Love your little changes Martina, they make a difference. Have a wonderful weekend.
Don't you just love little changes like that! It looks beautiful. Have a wonderful weekend, Gail
Very pretty, Martina! I love moss balls; you can tuck them in anywhere and they add that little touch of green that I like.
I love the change that the mercury glass made. Why is it that mercury glass goes so well everywhere?
We're all going to miss Picnik something terrible.
Marina, I love the shelf. I don't have any mercury glass but I surely want some now.
Just lovely!
xo Barb
Love the silver and green added. Yes, two years was plenty long enough for the first look.
I have never used Picnik except to add words to a picture. I do all my editing in Picasa.
Oh my dear, how I love that silver bowl against the brick with the greenery in it.
I love your changes. I'm like you and hate that Picnik is shutting down. How could they?! I do all my editing with it because it's so user friendly. I am not a person that likes change, so I will be hard pressed to find something that I like better.
I really love the moss in the little silver bowl. Lately I've been noticing how pretty a green plant looks in a silver dish.
What a difference a little change makes! I love mercury glass and these are really pretty pieces! Your pictures turned out fantastic! I have never used Picnik so I am curious as to what everyone will be using soon. I have to see what it is all about!!
Have a great weekend, Martina!
XO,
Jane
Looks great! That's what I was thinking. Enjoy Picnik while you can.
Brenda
Martina I just love the soft yellow, it all is so beautiful as always
I love those photos you blinged up in Picnik. A little change made such a big difference.
Neat photos and great mercury glass pieces. They work really well with the other pieces on the shelf. LOVE the moss ball.
Have a great weekend,
Babs
Mercury glass is my newest love! I think your shelf looks just wonderful, you've got a great eye for decorating!
Those are super pretty Martina!
I love the look of them. The silver adds just the right touch of elegance.
It's the little things that count!
Hugs,
Patti
A great new look, Martina.
The mercury glass looks good, but I think I am partial to those little king and queen bins.
~Bliss~
Your new vignette is so pretty! I love that mercury glass. I don't have any yet, but I'm on the lookout.
Love it all, Martina! I'm so very sad that Picnik is going to shut down! I have even been subscribed to the Deluxe part and now it's going to be gone!
Hope you're having a good weekend.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Love the shelf and the beadboard in your powder room.
The mercury glass looks great on the shelf and I like the green moss orb.
It is always fun to change things up a bit. I am afraid I am a bit remiss about that.
Keep changing things up, I enjoy see what you ladies do.
Blessings,
Ginger
Very pretty. I love mercury glass and have a bowl like that. They are so versatile and work in almost any room.
A little bling using mercury glass is always a good thing! I have some moss and a little bird sitting in one of my own bowls.
I've found several options for Picnik- if you're interested, let me know. The only thing missing from them is the options for those cool frames. But the texture options are available. :-)
I love the texture of the mercury glass with the moss and the starfish up there too. Nice change!
Pam
Love the mercury glass. Love Home Goods! Thank you for the visit and the sweet comment @TheDedicatedHouse. It means the world. Hope you have a grand day! Toodles, Kathryn
Your shelf looks fabulous!! So french, and pretty.
Kathy
I love the mercury glass! Beautiful vignette.
Try Photoscape. It is free. Takes a little getting used to but I absolutely love the options. I also use Picasa. Both are great for editing. Picasa is easier, but I recommend trying both.
Love your picnik photos! Mercury glass is always a favorite. Thanks for stopping by, Mary Alice
Hi Martina,
Great new look for the shelf...I like the aqua mercury glass. We don't see to much of that colour!
I like the fun and effects you had while playing...especially the brick one.
Have a great week ahead!
All the Best,
Christine
Love the moss and mercury glass together...such nice contrast! Have a great week!...hugs...Debbie
The mercury glass is very pretty and I love the shelf!

Definitely very relaxing! I love mercury glass.
Cute updates, and I like the textured pictures too. Surely Google is going to replace Picnik with something similar - oh what would I do without Picnik?! I'd love it if you'd share your project at my Show & Tell linkup party and giveaway going on now @ the Delectable Home.
And your playing so well...
Love your style.
Happy TTT...
Hugs,
/chie
Love that shelf and your changes are so pretty. Thanks tons for joining TTT Hugs, marty
Your little vignette looks very sweet and pretty! I love the mercury glass and the Piknik photos are wonderful.
Hugs, cindy
Well I do love the new look! That's just like me to find something, then have it setting around and months go by and finally I integrate it! I love that tassel too! I need something like that for a spot in my bathroom!
I thought it was so pretty the way it was, Martina, but I love it even more with the mercury glass. Especially with the mossy ball added to the mix. Mercury glass is just the best stuff - at least in my book! Take care.
I love your shelf before, but the "after," with the added mercury pieces is beautiful !!! What fun your Picnik project is ... I'm sick about them closing shop.
What a lovely change! Those really great steals! Have a wonderful day, Kellie xx
Love your new little shelf vignette! You know how I love my sparkly so I have quite a few mercury glass pieces myself :o)
~Des
Very pretty! I like how you had the shelf before but the addition of the mercury glass is wonderful too. Its amazing what a little change in accessories can do to the feel of a room.

I love mercury glass too...wow what a difference! This looks fabulous! Please come by my blog on

Your shelf looks lovely! I also love mercury glass, it has such a beautiful patina. I'm so sad about Picnik going - it's such a fun free tool! x Sharon
The mercury glass pieces are lovely, and I really like the moss ball. That touch of greenery seems to make everything pop in your display.
Also love that little stool from your Mom. Perfect choice of fabric!

I don't know what I'm going to do without Picnik either, especially for collages. I have tried out every suggested photo editor I can find out about and nothing works as well as Picnik. Its not a happy thats for sure.
Love your post and editing. Nice to visit.
Am I the only one who doesn't use picnik? Have you tried Picassa?
I'm with you kid. I am going to have major withdrawal issues once Picnik is gone. Picnik was just wonderful. I loved making collages and it was made making buttons so simple. We shall all grieve together.
On a happier note, I love the mantel. It really has inspired me to do something similar. Thanks for sharing.
