PB Teen...Teen Room/The Reveal

 Mackenzie's room is FINALLY done!!
I felt like this makeover took forever! Everything in her room was painted, walls, ceiling, trim, & furniture. She picked out the colors and most of the accessories.
Even this little plaque over her bed was hit with the paint brush to a brighter green (AS Antibes) to go better with all the bright colors in her bedding. Her aunt gave her this plaque one year for Christmas, she loves it.
My mom bought her the bedding for Christmas from PB Teen.
Every room needs a touch of animal print;)

She wanted a chalkboard in her room, we found this one in Hobby Lobby. She painted it in Graphite and added the fun little applique to the top. I bought her the chalk makers to use on it.
Those are her first set of point shoes hanging from the hook. She LOVES dance and is in 5 different classes.

I ordered her these wire initials from PB so she can display all her pictures.

We found these pictures in Home Goods.
Can you tell how much I LOVE these knobs from Hobby Lobby, I even added them to her closet doors.
I prefer to use sill length drapes in here, they stay nicer especially when this room is full of teenage girls! I ordered these form PB Teen also, they go her with bedding, the color is "Pool".
We still need to add one more piece of artwork to the right of her window. Shes working on a water color in school that she wants to use when she's done.

 One last Before & After...
She's loves her new room!!
Thanks for always stopping by and sticking with me on this long process:)

Adding a shade to your ceiling fan & Adding a bit of whimsy to the sconces

After we finished painting Mackenzie's room and the hubby was putting the blades back on her ceiling fan, I really didn't want to put back the UGLY light fixture (globe) that went with it! So I tried out the shade that was on one of her lamps and it worked perfectly and looked sooooo much better!
I've seen this done around blogland a lot and always loved the look! The hubs just added a washer and two nuts to secure it tightly and then we added the little finial back at the end.
A much better look, don't ya think?
Moving on to the sconces over her bed...every girl loves a little zebra print! I found these cute shades in Hobby Lobby.
I even removed the fabric cord cover and replaced it with this plastic one and painted it the same color as the wall. I liked the look of the fabric one but it was a big dust collector!
Hope your all having a super weekend!!
Next up... the full room reveal!

"Projects"

The only projects happening in our house this week are these!
The schools science fair is in two weeks, but my two oldest 7th and 5th grade have to present their project to the class next Monday, and Miss Victoria who is in 1st grade still hasn't made her mind up on what she wants to do UGH!!

Right now this is the only vignette you'll be seeing on my dining room table LOL!
See you all in a week! Hopefully I'll have something pretty to share with you!

Adding a pop of color

                Happy Valentine's Day friends!
I can finally say I'm done!!
With the furniture makeovers in Mackenzie's room that is, we still have to paint the walls, I'm hoping we can get started this weekend. Her ceiling needs to be painted also so I'll be needing the hubs help with that... because I don't do ceilings!
My MIL bought this chest for me when we first got married. It was whitewashed with stenciled flowers on it. A few years ago I repainted it white added some glaze and a new stencil to it.
Here's how it used to look...
And here's how it looks now... I figured with her walls being white her room was going to need a fun pop of color, so I used AS chalk paint in Antibes along with both the clear and dark wax.
Can you believe I gave this piece 2 coats and I only used a sample pot...this paint goes a long way!
I added a new stencil to the top, and sanded it down to make it look worn before I waxed it.

Mackenzie takes after her mama and loves green, she picked this color out and loves how it turned out!
Thanks so much for stopping by!

A new seating arrangement

Happy Monday friends!! I hope you all had a great weekend. Our's was busy...we had family visiting which is always fun and we had plenty of snow that needed to be shoveled from the 14inches that dropped on Friday into Saturday morning.Family left to go home this morning, now it's time to clean up and get all the laundry done:(

When my cousin gifted me that beautiful grandfather clock you can see here I needed to move some of my seating around. The two chairs that I had in front of  the large window were moved to the side wall in each corner, if I didn't move them it would have looked to crowded with the clock in the corner.
Here's one in one corner...
...and here's the other. It's on the same wall in the other corner. The french chair that was in this corner is now in front of the window near the skirted table. Bare with me guys... I'm confusing myself a bit... LOL!
I'm liking the new arrangement. I want to paint my coffee table to give it a more casual Country French feel, any suggestions on what color I should go with? I was thinking maybe a green?
Looking in from the dining room.
The new arrangement is even a better fit for conversation when entertaining with friends.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a super week!

Armoire & Nightstand in Graphite

Moving right along with Mackenzie's bedroom makeover. I finished the armoire and the nightstand, just one more piece to go and then we can get started on the walls! Annie Sloans chalk paint in Graphite along with the dark wax is what I used on these two pieces.
Here's a before of the armoire...
 And now the after...

I can't wait to see these pieces up against white walls.

LOVE these knobs I found in Hobby Lobby!
I just distressed around all the raised panels and
moldings to make them stand out.
And here's the nightstand done, I used Pure White on the drawers to break it up a bit.

Added the pretty knobs from Hobby Lobby on this piece too.
I love them!!
Here is a little peek of her new bedding my mom bought her for Christmas from PB Teen. She let her pick it out. I think the newly painted furniture is going to look great with it.

We both can't wait to say bye bye to these pink walls!
Hopefully the hubs and I will get the painting done next week & I'll have a full reveal soon! Thanks so much for stopping by!

I finally found one!

The perfect lamp that is for my desk! I had this desk makeover finished by Thanksgiving but with the holidays and now my latest project Mackenzie's room makeover, I just forgot about adding the finishing touches. I still need to find a chair and have the hubs hook up my new computer.

I found this cutie last week in Hobby Lobby. It was $40 and was on sale for 50% off, can't beat that!
Look at her pretty burlap shade.

I didn't want anything to big and she's the perfect size.
