I wanted to show you guys the new jute runner I bought for my kitchen after the wood floors were installed.
I love using a long runner in front of my sink and dishwasher...it keeps the floor clean and it prevents those dreaded water spots!
I even used one when we had the tile floor...here's a shot of the old one...
This time I ordered one with a black trim...I like the way it ties in with the black island.
The black hides spots too :-)
At 8ft. long it covers the whole area.
It also has a rubber backing which I thought would be great for keeping it in place...but that wasn't the case!
So when I was contacted by the nice people at Rug Pad USA asking if I would like to try out one of there rug pads I said sure!
I chose the Superior Lock rug pad for hardwood floors...it has both a felt side and rubber side.
Let me tell you friends after adding this rug pad my rug does not move at all...love that!!
I also love that their pads are eco-friendly and made in the USA!
They ship immediately so it arrives quickly too.
I loved this pad so much I just ordered another one just like it for the 8x10 area rug in my family room.
If you're in the market for a rug pad I highly recommend checking out Rug Pad USA

I have a few rugs like the one you just purchased, love them especially if you remember to get a darker trim like you did, otherwise the edge is dirty and ruins the look...glad to see you are back loved seeing your beautiful kitchen...come on over for a visit, I still have my forth of July setting up...lol
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a nice rug pad. I have a plain rubber one under the rug in front of my sink. I like the runner rug you chose for your kitchen too.
ReplyDeleteAs I came today from the Mall with mother and while driving, I said to myself: Now why did I forget to buy a new rug for my kitchen?
ReplyDeleteI love yours in your pretty kitchen and I'm gonna look for one similar! Tks for sharing Martina.

Your rug looks so pretty, Martina! I love how the black compliments the island. I am just learning about rug pads myself and quality pads DO make all the difference!
ReplyDeleteLove your rug Martina! Glad you are enjoying time with your family...
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Cindy
Looks wonderful! I have a big rug pad like that for my braided rag rug I use in the winter...they do work well! Happy Tuesday!!
ReplyDeleteLove the look of the rug. I need something I can wash though. The rug pad sounds great- mine is always moving.
ReplyDeleteThis looks so great, Martina!! I have been seeing runners in kitchens in magazines for quite a while and I even had one in the sink area for while because I loved the color! This is so pretty and yes, a pad keeps it from sliding. Thanks for your ideas!

Love your new rug....the darker border is so pretty and looks great with the black paint on your island.

Love those gorgeous floors, Martina. Wow! So warm and beautiful. The runner is great, too. Are you a mind reader or something? I was in the market for an 8x10 rug pad, and I just ordered one with your code. Thanks for knocking $25.19 off my order! I want a kitchen tour!
ReplyDeleteLove the new rug, Martina. The black edging does tie in really well with your island. Great idea to have the rug down for drips.
ReplyDeleteNever thought of a jute rug in the kitchen. Yours looks wonderful. I have a thick rug foam from Costco it's easy on the back.
ReplyDeleteNow that is a beautiful rug. I will have to save their site for when we put in our new floor next year.
ReplyDeleteHi Martina! The rug looks wonderful in your kitchen! I've never had that kind before. I'm supposing it's easy to keep clean too? Enjoy your family, that's most important.
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;O
Hi Martina, your new rug looks really nice! I had to take my rugs up in my kitchen because my Harley loves to chew them up....LOL!
ReplyDeleteYour floor is beautiful, Martina and I love the rug....Christine
ReplyDeleteGreat looking rug! That is a wonderful pad, can't have a rug without them, that is for sure!
ReplyDeleteHope you are having an awesome summer!
Nancy
Love the rug Martina...and I am sure the pad is not only great for the cushioning, but always a good thing for the rug itself....Looks great...and I know what you mean about "finding the time" to blog during the summer...have a wonderful day with your family!
ReplyDeleteHi Martina,
ReplyDeleteLove your kitchen and I really like the dark border around the rug, it looks great with your island.
XOXO, Liz
Hi there! Where did you get the runner from? Thank you! nancyjz@hotmail.com
ReplyDeleteHi Martina! Love the jute runner. I was wondering where you purchased it and how it feels on your feet? lindadarling24@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteHi Martina, Love your new rug and the way it ties in with your island.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice weekend.
Hugs
Love that runner! The black really sets it off!

Love the runner in your kitchen (which is beautiful, BTW). I have a similar rug underneath the table and chairs in my kitchen. The only problem I have with it, is that it stains easily (I have cats and one of them has thrown up on it a few times!) and the stains are really hard to get out of jute/sisal.
ReplyDeleteI like a rug in front of the sink too. Yours is perfect with the black edges.

I do so love all your lovely photos and stories that accompany them. Thank you for sharing them with the rest of us. I hope you will come by my site to see some of my oil paintings. Kindest regards, Carolina Elizabeth http://carolinaelizabeth-art.blogspot.com/
ReplyDeleteI have the exact same rug in my mudroom! I love it because none of the dirt shows when people are coming and going... goes great with your island!
ReplyDeleteWould love to know where you purchased the rugs. I am in the market for to runners to place in front of my French doors.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great looking kitchen. The look of the rug actually suits the look of the kitchen more than I would have thought. My wife wanted to do something similar and I have to give it to her she really made a good choice. I will for sure be doing this to our kitchen soon. Thank you for this again.
