Hi there friends...
Hope you all had a great weekend!

My collection of
demijohns has grown rapidly and I just picked up two more for a steal! This was another $10 find that I found at a flea market last week and decided to turn it into a lamp.
Yes that's a new sofa table it's sitting on but your only getting a peek today...that's a whole other post ;-)
I simply bought one of those lamps kits at Home Depot and had the hubby put it together for me.
The cord hanging behind the lamp drove him CRAZY!! So he went out and bought a drill bit that goes through glass and sent the cord up the inside of the bottle.
Gotta love him!
I love it so much better this way too and for a change I didn't have to ask him to do it lol!
I had the burlap shade on hand and just added the striped trim to it...I think I still might order a new burlap shade from PB.
Light on...

Here's a little peek at what I just worked on for our youngest's room. She was ready for some changes in her room so stay tuned!
She thinks she's a decorating DIVA now lol!!
Have a great week!!

ReplyDeleteI love it!!! I never, ever see demijohns around here. I do ahve 3 faux ones though:):) Would love more!!! Love the lamp!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a steal on your demijohn! They are nearly impossible to find around here no matter the price. The green stripe on your shade is genius! Love the little pop of color. Jane
ReplyDeleteLove the lamp, so pretty. The shade is fabulous too. Great project.
ReplyDeleteSo it's really easy to do that? It looks fabulous and has so much more character than something you find in a store.
ReplyDeleteLuv the new lamp Martina. The Mr. did a great job making it. haven't seen a demijohn since I was a kid, other than all the ones I see in blogland that is.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Gee
That looks fantastic Martina! Love the shade too.
ReplyDeleteYou are scoring on those demijohns. Love the lamp.

Such fun! I haven't seen them around here but I am still looking! You did a great job on the lamp shade.
ReplyDeleteWow that is so pretty!
ReplyDeleteAnd I could never have one...I could just see my cat sitting there scratching it, think that I got her a new scratching post! :( :(
A while ago I found two at Goodwill but not anymore. I love the one you made into a lamp, those little handles are adorable!
ReplyDeleteReally love this lamp!!! Thanks for linking up, enjoy your week!

That's such a great idea. I know Kim has done that too. I never think about having a lamp made out of a demijohn, but should consider it. They make such interesting lamps. Good to know that it is simple with buying a lamp kit. May have to give that a try some time.
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful blog.
ReplyDeleteMartina
The lamp looks great. Aren't you lucky to have such a handy hubby!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea your hubby had!...not crazy about those cords hanging from the top either..such a wonderful solution!...Looks so beautiful!..can't wait to see what you and your "decorating diva" are up to!!
ReplyDeleteGreat Lamp Martina. Love the shade with the green trim. I am not a fan of cords either and having a drill bit for glass helps. Great job by your hubby.
ReplyDeleteHappy Tuesday!
Beautiful....love the shade!

That's a cute lamp- and that was sweet that your hubby fixed the location of the lamp chord :-). I like the velvet stripe of the shade!
ReplyDeleteI guess it's not velvet but I still like it!
ReplyDeleteI love it, Martina!!! Such an awesome idea ... love that your hubby hid the cord and that you added the perfect trim to the shade! Look forward to seeing the sofa table!
ReplyDeleteMartina,
