2014 Thanksgiving Tablescape ~ Rustic Elegance

 Hi there friends...
I am honored to be one of the bloggers chosen by Sherry No Minimalist Here to participate in her Thanksgiving Vignette blog hop!!
~~~
I decided to put together a casual tablescape for Thanksgiving using everything I had on hand...
that even included the roses!
I shopped the house and grabbed things from different rooms...I even grabbed some of the baby boos I had in one of my lanterns outside.
I love how you can create something pretty without spending a dime!
I started by placing a piece of burlap on the table... instead of using one of my typical runners or tablecloths.
 Then the layering began starting with my favorite chargers that I bought from Nell Hill's a few years ago.
I used my white everyday dishes...
pretty cloth napkins...
my small blue dishes...
and a baby boo pumpkin to complete the setting.
 I bought these blue and white dishes in Home Goods over the summer.
They came as a set of four...love how they all have a different pattern on them.
I pulled out my MIL silverware and tied them with a piece of ribbon...adding a little cheetah print is always fun!
~~~

My MIL is no longer with us...my husband and I are very thankful to have this set!
I found this little brass tray at a flea market I frequent.
I love it...it travels around the house quite a bit!

Aren't these roses pretty!
The two toned ones are my favorite...the colors are perfect for Fall!
Who wants to come join me for lunch:-)

Just when I thought I took enough pictures the sun started to shine so brightly in one of the windows...I couldn't resist...so I took a few more ;-)

Thanks so much for stopping by...and thank you Sherry for including me in this fun event!

  24. At first I thought the burlap cloth was going to steal my heart, then I saw the plaid napkins, then the leopard ribbon (I know, very different but that's me!), then your MIL'S silver, then the woven mats. Geezzzz Louise, I don't know where to look first!

    Anyone can make a table look pretty by heading out to their local HomeGoods (or as in my recent attempt, Pier One), but it takes talent and creativity to pull this off, and yes, it's definitely more fun and fulfilling. Not to mention easier on the wallet.

    (I found you on Housepitality and as soon as I saw your 'rustic elegance' post I needed to stop by. We live in a log cabin. Nuf' said).

  40. Hi Martina! This is a great Thanksgiving table setting! I love orange and blue together (part of that comes from being an Auburn fan). Is your MIL's silverware pattern "Buttercup"? I think that was my mother's pattern but most of it has been lost over the years. You are lucky to have a nice set of it.
