Hi there friends...
Remember I mentioned we had a project going on outside...
Well today I'll be giving you a little tour around the outside of our home and show you just what we've been up to!
I was so tired of always having to pick up the rocks and mulch that landed in the grass after our lawn had been cut and trimmed...
so we decided to have stone edging installed all around our garden beds...lots and lots of stone!
We love the finished look it gave our garden areas!
Yucca plant in full bloom.
The stone edging gives the yard a neat and finished look.
Coming up the side of the house to the front...sorry I cut the side view off a little...didn't want to take away from the prettiness with showing the pool equipment.
Looking at the opposite side towards our neighbors house.
I love the look of fresh mulch!
This area took 6 yards of mulch...I spread it all myself...good thing I had a full bottle of advil on hand LOL!

I planted this purple catmint last year all along the edge and it came back in abundance!
This is the top of that side garden...
I call it my wooded area.
I call it my wooded area.
One of the things I love about our development is that the builders left quite a few mature trees around when they began building in here 18 years ago.
Let's move down to the back yard now...
We had our stone wall rebuilt with concrete...
and I planted 5 hot pink knock-out roses along the edge for color.
Aren't they pretty!!
Looking out my bedroom window.

Very pretty! We have stone edging too and I just love it. It has an organic look but keeps everything neat and tidy.
ReplyDeleteEvery little part of your home is so pretty!
Your yard looks fantastic! I like the edging you used. I bet that took a while to put out. I didn't realize how large your property was. I bet that does make a difference in keeping it neater.
ReplyDeleteLooks beautiful Martina!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty, Martina!
ReplyDeleteI don't think I've ever seen the outside your home Martina it's beautiful!! So big and sprawling compared to the small lots in our beach community. Wow. And the stone edging adds such a tidy, classic look. I haven't gotten to that point yet, we're still putting down another patio but thanks for the great inspiration! By the way, I needed my aspirin too after this weekend :)
ReplyDeleteOK I officially have yard and garden envy! Your landscaping and that stone edging is gorgeous! Love all of your beautiful plants too. I have to show these pics to Mr. Rosemary Lane...what inspiration!
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting Martina and have a great week!

your yard looks gorgeous Martina-so lush and green. Here is CA we all have dead brown lawns so it is nice to see green!
ReplyDeleteYour landscape is gorgeous, Martina! That's a lot of stone work, but it really looks great the way it defines your gardens.

Oh Martina that looks fabulous! That was a huge job and I love how it turned out a lot. I really like that stacked stone wall with the finished ledge. Black mulch looks so beautiful. We tried it here but with the stand of woods next to us we battled ugly debris that was always landing on it so we went back to hardwood mulch so it blends in better. It is rewarding to see all the fresh mulch spread out. Your yard looks beautiful and it looks like a very pretty neighborhood. Love the picture capturing the flag. :-)
ReplyDeleteYour gardens are gorgeous! Those knockouts will get big before you know it. I really like the stone edging all around.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! Your lawn and home are gorgeous! The stone edging is so nice gives a very finished and neat appearance. That was a LOT of stone and mulch! Hope you're relaxing and enjoying the beauty!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty, Martina. I love the dark mulch against the light stone.
ReplyDeleteYour yard is beautiful Martina. Our neighbors have a Yuka plant but didn't know that was what the name was, lol. I've been wondering and wondering what I was looking at. I love the look of fresh mulch too. Have a super 4th.
