Hey there friends...no pretty pictures today...just an update to show you how far we got with our flooring renovation project.
~~~
Last weekend my cousin and his crew started the demolition of our flooring! They took all the appliances out of my kitchen and even removed our center island...which now has a home in our dining room...and was able to remove all the tile and sub-floor.
~~~
Notice anything else that was removed??
Remember this half wall we had that separated the breakfast area from the family room...it's gone! Now it's just one big open space!
Much better!
I was able to remove all the plastic they had up to block off the family room...all the cutting will be done outside now.
They moved the electrical switches and outlet along with my central vacuum connection over to this wall.
They're even adding an outlet in the floor for me over here...so happy about that...I love having an outlet in the floor.
This weekend they told me the flooring in here will be done and my appliances and island installed back in and this wall should be patched.
On Sunday they're going to rip out the old hardwood in my dining room.
~~~
Hopefully I'll be able to paint this room next week and get it cleaned and back in order!
ReplyDeleteIt was so smart to remove the wall. I love seeing the progress Martina.
ReplyDeleteI am new to your blog. I found you by way of Savvy Southern Style. What a project you have taken on! My husband and his father installed our wood floors, but that was when we were building the house. I can't imagine replacing them! Can't wait to see the end results! I have to say thank you for the encouragement. I about to tackle the project of painting the bathroom and kitchen cabinets.
ReplyDeleteReally shaping up, Martina! What a difference taking down the half wall will make. Looking forward to your bedroom reveal...that pillow is gorgeous! Have a terrific weekend! Jane
Wow!! What a difference with the removed wall, it really opens up the space! So exciting! :)
ReplyDeleteHi, I just have a question regarding your window treatments in your kitchen/family room. Will you be keeping your blinds. You are the first person that has the same bumpout bay with sliding doors. I always like new ideas.
ReplyDeleteHi Martina, great progress. Love the wall removal. The floors are going to be gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteOutlets in the floor are great to have for end tables and sofa tables etc. I had a friend who had one put in the middle of a big room to center her Christmas tree.
Looks like you are having some fun upstairs too.
Have a great week.
Hugs
That flooring is going to look great! Thanks so much for stopping by my blog and for your sweet comment!
