The Aftermath of Hurricane Sandy

Hurricane Sandy did a significant amount of damage to the tri-state area. Thousands of people flooded out of their homes and large power outages throughout the area, this is expected to last for the next week or so! Sadly tragedy was also reported.

Minimal damage here compared to other areas. In our development we mostly saw down trees and roof shingles blown off.
My next door neighbors house.
The weeping willow in our backyard.
The next few pictures are from Fox 5 news.
I've lived in NY all my life and I've never seen so much damage and devastation caused by a storm!

After all the devastation caused by Hurricane Sandy, look what we woke up to this morning!

Such a large area of the country was affected by Hurricane Sandy, please keep them all in your thoughts and prayers.
 Praying your all safe!

  4. I'm so glad that you posted about this today. I was wondering how you fared. Glad that you didn't experience devestating damage. A few roof shingles and a tree can easily be replaced. When I was watching the news this morning, several anchors reported seeing that beautiful rainbow you're showing. I think it was a welcome sight to many!

  6. OMG!! This is awful, I'm so sad for my home town NY, but I'm so happy my family there and in NJ are fine and safe, except for heavy winds and some fallen trees. Praying for the people that have lost a lot. I've never seen anything as tragic like this happen in NY, I never thought hurricanes went to the East coast!

  9. I'm up in Canada in the very Southern part of Ontario. Our house is still being rocked by these crazy winds, but I think it's starting to slow down just a bit now. We lost a lot of shingles off of our roof too, but that's about it so far. So glad you're all OK! That rainbow is a great thing to wake up to after all of that scary stuff.

  45. It is hard to fathom the damage that has been done by Sandy. Our daughter was in Manhattan for an engagement party over the weekend. She got out on the last flight on Sunday. The rest of the west coast contingent is still there. My prayers are that the clean up will be timely for all the displaced people.
