Look at the size of this woodpecker! My husband was sitting at the counter earlier today and all I hear is OH "bleep" GET THE CAMERA!! The hubby was joking around and said this woodpecker looks like he's on steroids, he's so big! We have two woodpeckers that come to our feeders everyday but they are 1/2 the size of this guy.
Look at that pretty face...
...and look at the size of that beak! I'm guessing he could do some damage!
Have you ever seen a woodpecker this big? We sure haven't!
There he is getting ready for take off!
Have a great weekend!
wow , he is beautiful, but that beak could sure do some damage..
ReplyDeleteglad he sat still to have his photo made.
Happy Weekend
Holy cow... he is big! How cool that you were able to get some pics of him. I rarely see any woodpeckers in our neck of the woods.
ReplyDeleteHe looks like a pileated woodpecker. Here are some more pics of them.

ReplyDeleteHow funny! I haven't seen one this big either!
ReplyDeleteSherry

ReplyDeleteHI Martina! Oh, he's a beauty and I've not seen one so big! I'll bet he struts his stuff to all of the little wood peckerettes! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for popping in to see me.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Hi there,
ReplyDeleteHe is beautiful, but yes he can do extreme damage... He is a Piliated woodpecker, and if hungry enough, he will strip bark off trees thereby giving them an eventual death sentence. Don't encourage him to stay around, he is bad news in a beautiful boa :^)
