I love majolica pottery and have many of the cabbage leaf pieces. I have plates and serving pieces in different shapes and sizes that I use quite often. While surfing ebay one night I came across this set of seven dessert size majolica fruit plates. I knew I had the perfect spot in my kitchen for them.
I hung them over the slider in my breakfast area.
The back of our house is up high, the view is amazing!
Love the way they filled in the empty space above the door.
Spotted a few other pieces that I loved, but I was good and only ordered these for now ;)
Today I spent my morning in the hospital with the hubby. He had surgery on his knee for a torn meniscus. He's home and doing well, he starts PT tomorrow for 6 weeks.
Thanks so much for stopping by. Your visits and sweet comments make my day!
Have a super week!
Oh what lovely plates. I love how you have displayed them.

Hi Martina,
ReplyDeleteI love your majolica pieces over the doors. Did I tell you that my sister has over 200 pieces of majolica! Yes she does. Some of it used to be mine until she talked me out of it. Anyway, she says she is going to sell it all some day. I doubt it. She has a huge cupboard full.
Love the view from your dining area.
Hope your hubs does well.
hugs
sissie

Love those majolica plates and they are perfect above your door..just the right size and the colors are so yummy. Thanks for the inspiration.. I haven't looked on ebay for a while for majolica. I did get a Bordallo radish vase at an antique mall a couple of weeks ago, but haven't decided how to use it in a post yet.
