A Pair of Cane Back Chairs

Hi there friends...
While out antiquing a few weeks ago I came across a pair of these pretty cane back chairs. 
 I LOVE any chairs that have either cane or rush on them...and when the owner of the shop said he would give them both to me for $50 I said SOLD!

Of course they got a makeover...
Here's the before...they were in great condition but when I bought them I knew I was going to use them in my kitchen as the head chairs so I painted them AS Versailles to match the other chairs in there.
Cute fabric...I just didn't like the way it went in my kitchen.
I always love seeing a before and after side by side...




I'm having a new valance made for the window over my kitchen sink and this tiny check fabric is one of the fabrics that will be used...so I tried a piece out on the chair cushions.

Once I'm done making the changes in my kitchen and family room...I'll show you how the chairs look in there.

    I love those chairs, Martina. I really like the makeover..and that monkey print is hysterical!

    Is that a Waverly print on your chairs (has a coordinating floral?) Love the mini-check and it looks like I used in our cottage. xo Diana

    oh Martina it's always so fun to see your before and after photos. These chairs are gorgeous, I love the cane backs and the Frenchie legs. And I'm a fan of mixing up chairs at a table. I like seeing different ones at the ends.. I think it looks more interesting. I'm looking for two right now.

    Love your new chairs! They look like the ones I had in my DR before I got new ones. The little red check really makes the look along with the paint -- perfect for a kitchen.

    These are great chairs. I love Cain back chairs too. I enjoy having different chairs at the ends of the table. I have it in my dining room.
