Opinions Needed!!!

 Hi there friends I need your help!
~~~
We gave Mackenzie's room a complete makeover over a year ago.
Everything thing from the walls to the furniture got a coat of paint...except the bed!!
~~~
Leaving the headboard pine is making the room feel "OFF" to me!
That's were I need your input.

 I'm getting ready to paint the bed but I'm not sure if I should go with black or white?!?
 Her armoire and nightstand are black and her dresser is white.

 What color would you paint the bed??
Inputs needed pleeeease!

  1. I would do a fun bright color. Maybe the pink or purple in the bedding.

  2. I'm with Kim. I would pick a color from the bedding. Unless you want the headboard to disappear. Then I would paint it white.

  3. I vote for purple! It would be so bright and pretty! Not one of the choices you gave I know...sorry! :) If not purple then white.

  4. I think the black would pop against the wall and tie into the other black piece!

  5. I'd only go black if you were going to make it look the same as the other black piece and the same concept with the white.
    A bright color could be fun too.

  6. My first thought was black and that's unusual for me...I just think the bed has to be "grounded". I like the suggestions the other girls have about purple but I can bet your daughter will be done with that after a few short years! lol! Good luck!

  7. How about aqua? If not I vote for white.

  8. I vote for a fun color too and if not then white!

  9. Definitely a fun bright color! I'd pick up the hot pink from the bedding, plus I see you already have a little in the way of pink on top of that beautiful armoire. Hot pink would be a great accent color to pull through the entire room, but if you are really set on a black or white I'd go black, I'm a girl who loves contrast! It is such a cute room Martina, can't wait to see what you do with the headboard!!!

  10. I personally like the color in the drapes and bedspread. If not that, then I would white to match the dresser. What color does your daughter want?
    Good luck on your project. The room is so pretty for a young lady.

  11. I was thinking the bright green color, but agree with the ladies who said BRIGHT. I love the armoire!!

  12. I think everyone is right. A fun color from the bedding would look very pretty, but, if she likes to change her bedroom colors once in a while like my daughter does, then I vote for white. :) I know it will be beautiful!

  13. I'd paint it the colour of the curtains... If you really want black or white, why not both? Paint the spindles white and the railing black or vice versa.

    :)

  14. I agree with Liz, if you go with white it should be the same white as the other furniture, and black should be the same black.

  15. If you don't go with a bright color from the bedding, I would go with white. Does your daughter have a preference?

  16. I vote for white, same white as the dresser. I'm sure whatever you decide will be beautiful!

  17. Sorry to go wa-a-a-y off here, but IMHO the style of the headboard doesn't work with the rest of this room. I'd fashion an upholstered headboard from plywood, batting and a fabulous textured fabric. Luscious!

  18. I agree it needs a new color. I like white, but you could go with any color that's in the bedding.

  19. First, let me be the killjoy and ask if you asked Mackenzie what color she would like it. : ) Me, I would probably go with the black mainly because it is next to the black pieces and it will stand out from the wall more.

  20. I would go white. I grew up with the dresser and bed matching colors.

  21. I like the suggestions of a bright color but if that is not an option I would go with black for more contrast with the wall color.

  22. I think I would go black too, and I am not a black lover except in clothes. I think the headboard would be grounded and match with the other larger piece. Isn't it hard to make decisions, I know it is for me, and it's great getting others opinions! Have a great weekend!

  23. I would paint it the aqua/turquoise color in the bedding sheets. I think it would really make the bed look cohesive!

  24. If you don't think the bright color will be enjoyed for a bit then I would go with white with a touch of black accenting. We had a similar bed years ago.

  25. Hi Martina, what a wonderful room. I would paint the headboard black. It will add anchor to the room and also grow with your daughter. Everything goes with black in accents.
    I am sure you will pick what works best with your talents.
    Have a great weekend.

  26. Paint the bed in one of the bright colors in the bedding! Turquoise or hot pink or red or green.

    It will look great!

  27. Hi Martina! It is fun to see the opinions on Mackenzie's room because in my bedroom I have painted a pine armoire black (like you) and a dresser white (like you). Now I want to paint another piece in the room and I don't know which way to go without things looking either too mis-matched (another color entirely) or too matchy-matchy. I guess I will copy whatever you do again!!!

  28. Hi,
    My two cents...I'd paint the bed the same white as the other white in the room and I would make the bulletin board as tall as the armoire to balance the black.

  29. I will vote for white ... the same as the dresser and mirror...that would make another piece in the room the same color...painting it another color would lend to having three different colors in the room and sometimes lends to be a bit disjointed..you could paint fun colors in accent pieces, i.e. lamps, frames etc....Whatever you choose, I am sure it will be beautiful!!..

  30. Hi Martina,

    I would paint both the dresser and the bed black to match the armor or paint the armour and nightstand the same color as the other pieces. I like the talking piece to be the bedspread in a bedroom It makes for too much going on in the room. I think miss matched pieces go well in a room except the bedroom where you're going to be resting. Either all white or all black they are just to extremely differenton the color spectrum then the bedspred is loud and the curtains are different. To many extremes going on.

  31. I will be no help at all. I like the suggestions of a colour from the bedspread but I tend to go safe and would chose white or black, which is exactly the question you asked lol. It is a lovely and fun room for your daughter. She's a lucky girl.

  32. I'm voting for bright! One of those great reds! Or for the black. LOVE her room! Melissa

  33. First of all, this room is gorgeous! Secondly, I love your black armoire and your white dresser. Thirdly, if you have to prime the headboard before painting it, use white primer and that should let you know if you like it white or want to go with black. Can't wait to see what you choose!
