A lesson learned!

I made a trip to Home Depot yesterday and found this pretty hanging plant. I fell in love with the planter more then the plant that was in it. I splurged and bought it for $40. Today I had to make a trip to Lowes and while looking around their garden center I saw they sold just the planter, so I went over to take a look. Guess what the price tag said $6.99!!!
I could have bought the planter and some flowers, and made my own for under $20!

At least I can save this pretty planter and reuse next year. I have this hanging under my back deck.

                     Have a super weekend!!

  1. I saw those planters last weekend and wanted one too!
You know, sometimes it pays to buy the larger hanging baskets and sometimes it doesn't.
I had three or four flowers in my cart to put in my large urn by the driveway and when I added up the pots, (and they were those 4" pots called Proven Winners or something) it was going to cost more than me buying a hanging basket that was super hardy for only $14.99.... so in that case, it worked for me!

    But you just never know.
Have to do our homework, don't we?!!

    :)

  2. I hate it when that happens! It does look pretty, though.

  3. Martina, I know you would have saved $20.00 but you did not have to deal with all the mess of planting it. I am just offering the "bright" side!
Either way, it is a lovely hanging basket.

  4. It's really pretty, Martina! I just saw that shape for the first time this year. I've got no more space for hanging planters here at the new place, which is probably for the best. : )

  11. Don't you just HATE when that happens? Or you buy something on sale (clothing, etc) and you go back two weeks later and they are clearancing it out and have it in YOUR SIZE for 1/2 the price you paid originally? Drives me nuts!

However, even though you paid more for it-it IS very beautiful. I have one out front that I have had for several years and it stays out year round- Blessings to you-xo Diana

  22. I'd be mad after seeing that too! It just shows how much mark up there is in pre-planted pots. I like that cone shaped basket. Very unique.
