A tale of a table

I bought this table from Home Decorators about 5 years ago for our sitting room. I didn't want anything to expensive since my kids live in this room, especially my son and his friends when they play video games! This was how it looked before I took a paint brush to it.
Then it went to this... I used AS Old White
I just ordered a new rug for this room, so I figured it's the perfect time to change things up a little. You know what that means... out comes the paint brush, and this table was first on the list.
 Here's it's new look...
I used AS Coco (love this color)! I didn't want to distress it heavily so I just distressed the details to make them stand out and a little around the edges on the top.
Love how the old white comes through along with the original color.
 It doesn't stop here!

After bringing it back into the sitting room it just didn't seem right to me. This is a very casual room and the piece looked to perfect. So out came the sander again! I know this look might not be for everyone but it goes with the style of the room so much better now.
I sanded it until I got a layered worn look.
 Love it!
Boy this sure was a long post for just one little table! Hope I didn't lose anyone along the way:)

  15. I like it all sanded up. I think I might need to get some of the coco color before I do anything else here. The warm tones of the browns are what I tend to like, and I've been using the french linen and a Caldwell slate, and those just are not right for my house even though I like them.

  24. Hi Martina,
    The table transformation looks great.
I love it all shabbied up. Sometimes I think I go too far with the sander, but I love how it makes furniture looks worn and pretty.

    Good job.
