Hi y'all!

It's my turn again to host this great weekly soiree. I hope you will continue to Share Your Style with us.

I spent the Memorial Weekend in my "happy place", Grand Isle. The unofficial start of summer is here, and I am most excited that my summer will be here in just two days.

This is me and my cousin Monique outside Kajun Kastle at age 7, 40 years ago!!!! Do you like my flowered raft???

Do you have summer plans? This summer I have trips planned to Perdido Key, Seattle, Portland, Los Angeles, and Palm Springs. I cannot wait to share the adventures of Uptown Acorn coming soon....

Meatloaf and Melodrama shared this idea for summer cookies, flip flops. I adore these so much. Brilliant!

Who doesn't love a good summer cocktail? Life In My Empty Nest shared the delicious sounding Simple Cranberry Margarita. Cheers!

A chair's before & after

 Hi there friends...TGIF!

My mom picked this cute chair up at an estate sale. 

She loved the rush seat and size...the only thing she didn't like was the color. 

An easy fix!

 She wanted it painted black...so I pulled out my container of Americana chalk paint in "Carbon" and painted it for her...

What a difference!

Here's how it looked before...

 Now this fits her style so much better!!

 I even pulled out one of my small stencils and added a little design...

I used antique gold rub & buff. 

Then I lightly sanded over it to give it a worn look.

I distressed all along the edges also. 

Then I added a coat of clear wax and called it finished!

 Mom loves the way it came out :-)

~Pretty In Pink~

We dog sat for a friend the past few days and when she came to pick her up she brought me these pretty flowers...which was so unnecessary!!

We loved having her and Neena loved having a friend...even though she was only 5 pounds lol!
Wish I thought to take a photo of them together.

 

 Such a beautiful shade of pink...aren't they pretty!

Not sure what these are called but I love them...maybe snap dragons?

I'm loving the touch of pink in this spot...

looks like I'll have to keep buying a bunch ;-)

One More Time shared how to make a farmhouse hall tree.  It's so cute!  I'm sure her family will get a lot of use out of that.

Gates of Crystal shared how she made French style shutters for her windows.  They are so pretty!  I love the blue color too.

Forever Decorating shared her new barn door installed in her garage.  I would love to have one of these somewhere in my own home!  Love this idea.
