Hi there friends...
I've been wanting to change out the mirror I had hanging here with a vintage one and was so happy to find this one!
It came from the same antique store in Connecticut as the lamp that I showed you in my last post did.
~~~
~~~
The owner of the shop just cleared out an old
Inn in Newtown and this was one of the pieces he brought back with him.

and for $75 I thought it was a steal!
I picked this pretty fern up in the grocery store the other day to replace the dying poinsettia I had here...
I added a few twigs to the center for height.
The mirror I had here is moving to another spot so stay tuned!
~~~
I'm heading back to that antique store tomorrow...the owner said he had another truck load from that Inn!!
ReplyDeleteI love those old mirrors, they add so much charm! Your home is looking so pretty Martina, I sure love your taste.
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful, Martina! It reminds me a lot of the mirror I found last year at an estate sale and hung in our dining area. I fell in love with it, too, and went back to the estate sale the second/last day of the sale to see if it was still there and if I could get it cheaper. I did and I was thrilled to bring it home. I love a round mirror and the detail is really pretty.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely mirror! The gold detailing is so pretty!
It's perfect! I like how it's accented and of course the design! How lucky you are to have access to little shops along the East coast! That spot is perfect for it too!
You lucky lady. This never happened for me when I was at height of finding pieces I wanted. CT has always been known for antiquing. Most of my searching is EBay and Etsy. I get around better but still hesitate going for a long day.
ReplyDeleteLOVE this mirror and the table underneath
Cindy
Martina,
ReplyDeletedon't you just love getting something beautiful for a great deal! It's gorgeous and perfect for that spot. I also love the basket with feathers, I have one just like that with pheasant feathers from my son-in-law but on a smaller scale.
Your mirror is beautiful and quite a find for the price. I love how your little chest nests up to he staircase and the fern is perfect to show the whole vignette off.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful mirror, Martina! My parents had one very similar in the master bedroom, over a chest of drawers, when I was kid. Now, you're making me wonder what happened to it? I think I need to do some research!
ReplyDeleteIt's very pretty!
ReplyDeleteThe mirror is gorgeous. I love the old glass in an old mirror. You are right, lovely details.
ReplyDeleteGosh, that's pretty. Love the carving! Great find.
