Powder Room Makeover

Hi there friends...
Hope you all had a nice weekend!
We had a few inches of snow on Saturday but a big storm is heading our way today into tomorrow!
~~~
When I found the vintage mirror for our foyer here I knew I was going to use the mirror that was already there in our powder room.
~~~
 I wanted to paint the mirror first before hanging it in there...well one thing led to another and I wound up not only painting the mirror but the powder room too!!
  Remember the mirror before...
I used the Americana chalk paint from Home Depot in Carbon again...I had plenty leftover from the table makeover here.
I added a little bit of antique gold rub & buff to the detail work to make it stand out.
I used a kids tooth brush to apply it...it worked perfectly letting just enough get on!
My new towel bar that I ordered from Luckett's.
I love the vintage look it has.

I wanted to keep the framed botanicals that I had hanging in here...I just arranged them differently when I hung them back up.

The boxwood wreath I already had but I just found this pretty wooden architectural piece at the indoor flea market I frequent...
I like the way they look together.
 The three tier stand came from Home Goods over the summer...it replaced the small white cabinet I had in here for years...
I like the way this looks so much better.
 I also changed out the brushed nickel light I had in here to this pretty french country sconce that I ordered online from Home Depot...and added the buffalo check shades to it.

  I really love the powder rooms new look!
I used the same paint color in here that's throughout our first floor...Cornice Tan (formula cut in half) by Ben. Moore.
~~~
Isn't it funny...I was only going to swap out a mirror but that led to a mini makeover !!
Fun in the snow!
 Hi there friends...
Happy Saturday!
~~~
We woke up to some snow this morning...
Neena couldn't wait to get outside and play!
Photos taken with my iPhone so they're not the best quality.

 Neena loves the snow!
  She's trying to steal Will's glove.
  All I have to do is say come to mommy and she comes running!

 Enjoy your weekend...I'm off to make some comfort food:-)

Sofa Table Makeover

 Hi there friends...
What's a girl to do on a cold rainy Sunday?
Find something to paint of course!!
~~~
I bought this sofa table in Home Goods after our new sectional was delivered...it was the perfect size just not the perfect finish and style but I knew I could fix that.
 Not a problem...with a little paint and new hardware I gave this table a whole new look!
~~~
Here's the before...stained with mission style pulls...nice but not my style.
After...now it has the french country look that I love.
 I bought the new pulls in Hobby Lobby...they had a white finish on them so I painted right over them using the color I used for the table...AS Versailles.
After waxing it the color was still a little too light for the look I wanted so I just applied more of the dark wax until I got the look I wanted.

 I added a wooden applique in between the two drawers.
  The table is made by Lane and is solid wood not wood veneer...that's what I liked about it.
  Love the worn aged look it has now.

 Sorry for the dark pictures the weather wasn't the greatest on Sunday!
Happy to see the sun shining today:-)

Layers & Texture on the Mantel

 Hi there friends...
I hope you all had a great weekend!
During Christmas I had that "ping" go off in my brain again!!
It told me to have a mirror added to this frame.
 This is the frame I use at Christmas to hang a wreath in.
I love the detail work on this frame and thought it's too pretty to be stored away for another 11 months.
So after Christmas I took it to a local glass place and had them add a mirror to it.
I also took down the scones that you see hanging in the photo below...I've had them hanging here since we moved in 12 years ago.
I'm planning on having electric ones installed in the near future.
 How it looked at Christmas...

 I added the eucalyptus back to my ginger jars...found the old oil painting while out antiquing...added one of my round wicker chargers...and in front of that a pretty brass blue and white candleholder I picked up at a flea market.
Love the patina on this frame.

Thanks so much for stopping by...
Have a great week!

New vignette on the blue chest

 Hi there friends...
You know what they say new year...new vignettes!
 Once all the Christmas stuff is put away I love having a blank slate to play around.
 I love this metal urn.
I usually have a real plant in it...but the plants never do well since I can't re-pot them in it...so I grabbed a tall topiary I had in my hoarding room and added some moss it.

  Love adding old books to a vignette.
  I found this cute brass acorn at the indoor flea market this past weekend.
   I left the berry wreath on the mirror for the winter months.

It's nice seeing some sunshine!
Are you having fun creating new vignettes after the holidays?
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Vintage mirror #2 in the Master!

 Hi there friends...
I can't tell how thrilled I was that when I went
 back to the antique store on Friday they still had
 this mirror that I saw on my last visit there.
 I regretted not getting it when I bought the one for our foyer and was afraid it would be gone when I went back!

 This mirror is huge...it's measures 4ft wide!
 The detail work on the frame is so pretty!
The condition of the frame is far from perfect but that makes me love it all the more!

 The owner of the shop was asking $300 for this one but I was able to get it for $250...I think I did good for an antique mirror this size.

 I'm loving the lighter wall color in here.

 I'm so happy things worked out because I love the way this mirror looks over our bed!
Thanks so much for stopping by...
Have a super week!
