Hi there friends...
I'm still playing around with my flea market finds and decided to take a different "decorating" direction...does that ever happen to you?!?
I headed to Hobby Lobby on Monday like I said to get my new canvas framed. When I was half way there I realized I forgot the canvas!!! You all know what that meant...NO framed canvas:-(
So when I came home I played around with it for awhile and decided for now I really like the way it looks just leaning against the chippy shutters in my living room.
I like the layered look it gave this corner of the room.
So for now this is the direction I'm taking...and I'm happy with it!

Tomorrow we are hosting a pool party/bbq for 30 teenagers!!
My oldest daughter wanted to get her class together one last time before they all go off to high school in September!
Good friends...Good food...Lot's of fun!

Oooh I love that look! I'd say it was destiny that made you forget to take the picture to be framed!
ReplyDeleteI hosted a party for my daughter's classmates for the same reason (except no swimming pool). Hard to believe she's 27 now!! Have fun :-)

It looks amazing leaning there against the shutters. Gives it importance instead of the usual hanging up on a wall. As an artist I luv showcasing my canvasses in unusual ways.

ReplyDeleteMartina I love how it is just that way! The area you created is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, don't you hate when that happens! I tend to leave things by my pocketbook that I have to remember to take with me or I put them right in my car while I'm thinking of it. I love those shutters and they make for a nice backdrop for the painting.
ReplyDeleteIt is a beauty! I love flower paintings. And I also have always loved that blue piece.
ReplyDeleteBrenda
I'm so glad you didn't frame your painting because I love it as it is. Unframed vintage paintings have so much character...in my opinion. :-)

Kris
Hello,
ReplyDeleteI just found your blog today and I had to put in my two cents about the painting. It has a frame now...it is the shutter than compliments it so well. I think placing art around a room (frameless) adds a bohemian effect that surprises the eye and, in your room, really adds depth. I love the painting like this.
You created such a gorgeous vignette! And that rug, love love! Happy Monday Martina :)

Martina, I love the canvas and the pop of red against the blue shutters.

When you asked "does that ever happen to you?" I thought...what happens to ME is doing things like leaving the painting at home...but what a serendipity! It looks great against the chippy shutters. The blues in the vase on the canvas pick up the color of the shutters well. Your room is just lovely! Congratulations for being featured over at "Treasure Hunt Thursday".
ReplyDeleteWell, I feel better! Forgetting stuff seems to be my way of life lately! It worked out great for you! I love the painting as is. It's pretty leaning against those beautiful shutters! Changing direction is a good thing.. or did I forget something? HA! Happy Day to you!
