Starting A New Collection!!

 Hi there friends...
Remember when I bought the ladder for my master bath I said I came home with a few more goodies...well these old canes and walking stick are them.
 I've been looking at these canes every time I go into an antique store and some of them are priced at $60 & $70 a piece!!
~~~
It must have been my lucky day... I got all five for $50!!
When the seller said ten dollars a piece...I said I'll take them all!
The container I've had for a while...I bought it in Hobby Lobby. It's the perfect size and it leaves me room to add a few more ;-)
Just what I needed...another collection!!
Have a great week!!
  4. Way to go! I don't blame you for grabbing all of them. They look pretty there in the jar. It seems that every collection I've ever started began with an inexpensive find like that. It grows from there in cost and numbers but that's part of the fun. :)
  9. Those are GREAT, Martina. It is nice when you can start a collection off with a bang---cuz we all know it takes at LEAST 3 pieces to start a collection. You are already ahead of the game. LOVE that pot they are in. xo Diana
  10. Nice find, great price. Unfortunately, I have a collection, too, just not as pretty -- mine are functional. Except for two which are very old (they are for looks) I keep them in the garage where I can grab one on the way out. I would like to find a pretty bamboo cane too. Anything in bamboo seems pretty hot right now.
  22. What a great find! I used to look for them too...same thing..pricey. Is the one with the rounded end a blackthorn? The urn is perfect for holding the walking sticks. Now, you have me wanting to look for new ones. :)
  23. I have canes too. First one, then someone gave me a couple, then I started seeing them in free boxes at garage sales, and pretty soon my umbrella stand was full of canes and I can never find an umbrella!
  24. I collected some walking sticks and canes years ago. I don't have but a few, but they're down in my basement. I have a bamboo one like yours too. They look pretty in your pottery piece.
