Mantel Makeover

 Hi there friends...
Hope you all had a wonderful Easter! I hosted and had a house full of family and friends...it was a great day!
~~~
Since the new hardwood floors have been installed I've been keeping busy with painting the walls, trim, & even a few furniture pieces...why stop there!?!
So I went ahead and painted my mantel...and after seeing the results I wish I did it sooner!!
 I painted it Chateau Grey...AS chalk paint. Distressed it and waxed it with clear wax only.
 This color goes well with the green marble.
Added an ivy plant and tulip to my copper bucket.
 I love how it made all the pretty details stand out...
the hubby is even loving the new look and can't believe it took me this long to do...men!!!
BEFORE...
AFTER...
    Love how it pops against the lighter walls. Another project checked off the list!! Well... this wasn't really on the to-do-list is was one of those light bulb moments lol...does that ever happen to you?!?
    Now, I'm going to want to add "...and paint the mantel" to our living room list of projects. We have a big old honking mantel piece, too.
  37. Your mantel is beautiful Martina! It has so much more personality now than when just white. I know there are times when I put off doing a project only to be so pleased with it when finished and wonder too why I waited so long. Great makeover.
