Dressing up the Sconces

 Hi there friends...
Well I couldn't just leave well enough alone...every time I looked at the sconces above my tub they just looked lost against the new lighter paint color.
So... I decided to change them up and give them a more country french look.
 Here's how I did it...
I bought these plain shades in Hobby Lobby... they sell them in the fabric section. They have them in different shapes and sizes.
The best part is they have a ready made template wrapped around the shade to make cutting the fabric easy!!
I need all the help I can get with that part lol!

I knew I wanted to use a check fabric so I found this small green check fabric in Hobby Lobby and then added the shaggy trim around the bottom...I also added a small cream braided trim to the top to give it a more finished look...(and to hide my imperfections!)
 Remember the before...
 Now for the after...
Love the new look...and it only cost me $20!!

  28. Oh Martina, these are adorable!!! We don't have a HL here but I bet I can find these at JoAnn's or Michaels. We won't have sconces in the new house. I'm wondering if they can be found in larger sizes???
