2012 Christmas Mantel and Family Room Tree

 I went with a whole new look on the mantel this year. I usually always put my Santa painting which you can see here on the mantel.
Another change this year is I used a lot more live greenery, the house smells so good! Let's take a look...


I bought the frame in Hobby Lobby a few weeks ago when they were on sale for 50% off and tied a real wreath to it, my mom made the bow for me. I also poked two berry picks in there for a pop of red. The ribbon I bought in AC Moore craft store.

Added an old fashion Santa that I had for years, along with real garland and a few faux Christmas trees.


This is the first year we've had a real tree in here, I love it! Think we just started a new tradition!
It's an 8ft. fraser fir.

    Martina, Your mantel is just perfect. Love the focal point of the large frame with your beautiful wreath. Perfect choice of ribbon and bow. Your tree looks so pretty in the corner. I can't believe we haven't cut ours yet! On the "to do" list for this weekend.

    just love that frame, i have always liked this look but have not done that in my house, maybe i will have to go to hobby lobby. Never had a real tree?! We always do a real tree in the family room and then 2 other artificial. Fallen needles from one is more then I can handle.:)

    I love how you placed a wreath inside an empty picture frame like that. So cute! Love your tree too. The live trees do look good and make the house smell like Christmas. I miss having a live tree. We started getting a fake one after I realized I was allergic to them! I can't have any live greenery in my house without getting a sinus infection. Boo Hoo!

    I for one am glad that gold frames are in style again. There was a time when silver was more popular. Gold is so much warmer. The frame is perfect.

    Hi Martina: I found you at Stone Gable and am now a new follower. Your tree is absolutely beautiful. After so many years of faux everything isn't it nice to have the real thing again.     Your Christmas mantle is so inspiring!! And your tree...nothing like a real tree for a wonderful smell of pine..just have to deal with a few (well, more than a few) needles.     Hi Martina. Your post really made me miss having a live tree. Yours is so beautiful. No matter how perfect the shape and how full the tree, faux just isn't the same! I love what you did with your mantle. Lucky you to find some of that ribbon at Hobby Lobby. There was none to be had in the store here.
