I made a trip to Home Depot yesterday and found this pretty hanging plant. I fell in love with the planter more then the plant that was in it. I splurged and bought it for $40. Today I had to make a trip to Lowes and while looking around their garden center I saw they sold just the planter, so I went over to take a look. Guess what the price tag said $6.99!!!
I could have bought the planter and some flowers, and made my own for under $20!
At least I can save this pretty planter and reuse next year. I have this hanging under my back deck.
Have a super weekend!!
I saw those planters last weekend and wanted one too!
ReplyDeleteYou know, sometimes it pays to buy the larger hanging baskets and sometimes it doesn't.
I had three or four flowers in my cart to put in my large urn by the driveway and when I added up the pots, (and they were those 4" pots called Proven Winners or something) it was going to cost more than me buying a hanging basket that was super hardy for only $14.99.... so in that case, it worked for me!
But you just never know.
Have to do our homework, don't we?!!
:)

Thanks so much for coming by today, Martina.
I hate it when that happens! It does look pretty, though.
ReplyDeleteMartina, I know you would have saved $20.00 but you did not have to deal with all the mess of planting it. I am just offering the "bright" side!
ReplyDeleteEither way, it is a lovely hanging basket.
It's really pretty, Martina! I just saw that shape for the first time this year. I've got no more space for hanging planters here at the new place, which is probably for the best. : )
ReplyDeleteI saw those too at Home Depot and absolutely fell in love with them. It was worth the splurge!
ReplyDeletehubby was over my shoulder just now and he wants one. I was headed to Lowe's tomorrow so hope they have them in stock.
ReplyDeleteI just hate it when that happens. Darn.... It is a cute planter though and can be used for several years:)
ReplyDeleteOh BUMMER!! That is one beautiful planter, Martina.
ReplyDeleteThat planter is gorgeous. Live and learn!
ReplyDeleteGosh, I hate when that happens! Sure looks pretty though Martina. Enjoy the weekend.
ReplyDeleteDon't you just HATE when that happens? Or you buy something on sale (clothing, etc) and you go back two weeks later and they are clearancing it out and have it in YOUR SIZE for 1/2 the price you paid originally? Drives me nuts!
ReplyDeleteHowever, even though you paid more for it-it IS very beautiful. I have one out front that I have had for several years and it stays out year round- Blessings to you-xo Diana
good to know the better buy is at Lowes. Thanks for the head's up.
ReplyDeleteI still love the planter and flowers. Who among us hasn't done the same thing? You bought something you love and that's what is important.
ReplyDeleteI would take the one back to HD. That is a crazy price difference. Love the look.
ReplyDeleteit really is a lovely planter,
ReplyDeleteThat's a big price difference! I hate when stuff like that happens.
ReplyDeleteThe planter is very pretty though...great shape to it.
Oh well. That happens to me all the time, exept when my hubby interfere :P At least you have a lovely planter.
ReplyDeleteI would love for you to share your lesson learned to linky party I am having now :)

Lovely! Now I just might have to head over to Lowe's in the morning...
ReplyDeleteI hate it when that happens! But it looks wonderful! I love the shape. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteDebbie
Oh I hate when that happens....but it sure is pretty though! Enjoy your weekend, Gail
ReplyDeleteI'd be mad after seeing that too! It just shows how much mark up there is in pre-planted pots. I like that cone shaped basket. Very unique.
ReplyDeleteLove the planter...thanks for sharing your lesson learned...now I will go to Lowe's :-)
ReplyDeleteWell, it is absolutely lovely if that's any consolation! I adore it...but I have to admit now that I'm going to head to Lowe's and see if I can find it! ;)
ReplyDeleteHeather
Don't you wish you'd just never run across the second one? Hate that.
ReplyDeleteBrenda
Well, as they say in France, c'est la vie! And it looks very pretty. x Sharon
ReplyDeleteHi Martina,
ReplyDeleteIt sure is a beautiful planter. I'd take it back to Home Depot and go buy Lowes. :)
Very strange! I got the same hanging basket for $29.99 at home depot in Sacramento on Friday! It is a really well done basket, so just enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI know, I hate when that happens. What a mark up! At least it is beautiful and reuseable, too.
ReplyDeleteSorry:(
Patti
