~More Books~

After doing the dreaded grocery shopping the other day I made a quick stop in our local antique shop and picked up a few more leather books. Since our sitting room has been going through some changes I figured I'd change up the vignette on the self on my desk. This room is really the hangout place for my kids and their friends, but I wanted to add a few grown up touches since this is where I sit and blog (which means I am in here quite often)!!

I've had these dogs since my childhood. The wire haired terrier is the dog we had growing up.

I really liked the cover on these three.


Thanks so much for stopping by, I look forward to our visits! We hit 80 here in NY yesterday and it's suppose to be like that for the next few days. Lovin it!!

    Such beautiful old books! The pine branches on the spine are so pretty ( I think they are pine branches?) What a great find. :)

    I can't believe it's 80 in NY but I guess I shouldn't be surprised since we almost hit 90 here in GA yesterday.

    I love that shelf--the books, the dogs, the globe...all perfect together!

    I don't even remember what 80 degrees feels like! Enjoy it! Our forecast is "heavy rains"--the joy of Oregon:)

    Isn't this weather awesome! I love all your displays. Someone pinned a globe as a centerpiece for a party and I thought that was such a good idea, too!

    Hi Martina, I found you via Traci's blog, Timeless Southern Home. I have some favorite old books that I like to display. I love your dog figurines too. We have my late mom's wire haired dachshund which looks a lot like the terrier.

    Love how you displayed your old books. They do have such pretty covers. Books make great risers and add interest to a vignette. How special to have those dogs from childhood.

    I agree that a grocery store trip deserves a reward! Your books are beautiful. I love when you can find sets like that. Our weather is the same here...in the 80's yesterday and today. Just crazy!

    Hi Martina....two of my all time favorite things....terrier dog figures...I have a bunch...and ofcourse Globes!!. I'm sure you have seen my collection of them around my house...I get so excited when I come across a new one especially if I get a bargain...

    The little table (that you took off your Mom's hands...lol) looks perfect all dressed up in that pretty yellow!

    Love the old books and I think I have a "litter mate" to the that fox terrier dog figure. We had a fox terrier when we were first married and I'm always drawn to them.
