I know some of you might think why did she paint this. I still like the look of the before but I just needed a change. I know you guys know that feeling:)
The Before...
And the After...
I love how this little piece turned out! I used AS Old Ochre on the whole piece and then CoCo on all the trim. Then I sanded and applied both the clear and dark waxes.
It goes so much better with my mirror too.
Hummm.....I wonder what's next?
Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Barb over @ Grits and Glamour is having her second Wild About Mother Nature Party and I didn't want to miss out on the fun, so here is my nature inspired vignette.
I used my concrete candlesticks and topped one off with a birds nest. Love these candlesticks they look like they have moss growing on them. Added another nest under the cloche.
Just found this large nest in Home Goods a few days ago for $3. It looks so real. I added two eggs to it.
A full view of the vignette sitting on top of our tv console. Can't wait to see all your nature inspired creations over at Grits and Glamour!

At least I hope it is!! After using this color on the chest in my living room I've been dying to use Aubusson Blue (Annie Sloan) again. I thought it would look good on the chest in my son's room that went from Red to Paris Grey and now Aubusson Blue all in a years time!
Here it is in Paris Grey. It looked nice but blended in to much with the wall color.
Big difference don't you think. LOVE this color! Wish I could find more pieces to use it on.
I love all the layers of paint coming through after it was sanded.
His room is so bright it might be hard to tell, but this color gives a nice contrast against the wall color. When my kids came home from school yesterday they were like mom your painting that AGAIN!! They should know better by now;)
Have a great weekend!

Most of you know by now that my mom lives with us. We had a full walkout above ground basement that we made into a mother/daughter apt for my mom after my dad passed away and she sold their home. Back in October I gave you a tour of her bedroom which you can see here. Right before Christmas she went and ordered new furniture for her living room from Ethan Allen (love that store)! The furniture arrived and she put her room back together so now I can finally give you Part 2.
She bought a new couch and chairs, rug and small accent table. The coffee table and pie table in between the red chairs she bought from Ethan Allen 45 years ago when they first got married.
This painting also came from their and is from back then too. Some things never go out of style. I love this painting!
Here is the new little accent table.
This corner hutch my was made by my dad and used to be in their dining room.
Love Love her new chairs and ottoman! You will notice she is a big hummel collector.
Stay tuned for Part 3! Mom's dining room and kitchen. Thanks so much for stopping by!
Have a great week!

Happy weekend friends! Not much happening around here today but I wanted to show you this sweet little lamp I just ordered from Amazon for my kitchen. I love using small lamps on the counters. They make the kitchen look so cozy at night instead of using the bright overhead lights.
Isn't she purdy! Enjoy your weekend!

I have always loved check fabric, especially buffalo check! Ballard is still having a great sale on their pillow covers so I though why not :o) I have quite a few pillow covers in different sizes in the small toffee check through out the house, and the couch in our family room was in need of some pillow fluffin .
LOVE this buffalo check and I was lucky enough to get this because it seems Ballards is doing away with this fabric :(
The mantel is going to be getting a little something added to it hopefully soon. I just have to get the hubby movin on this because I need his help with this one!
Have a great weekend!

Seeing all the beautiful chandeliers out here in blogland made me want to dress the one in my dining room up a little. I always loved the Beeswax candle sleeves that Joan over @
for the love of a house uses, so I went and ordered them. But I still wanted a little more so along with the candle sleeves I ordered their 2" French Cut Crystals. I love the added bling it gave it!
Before....
AFTER....
I ordered everything through Antique Lamp Supply.
One more close up and this is it, I promise!!
