This is the piece that I gave you guy's a little peak of in my last post. I found this at a garage sale right before Christmas on my way to drop Toby off at the groomers. The man sold it to me for $20! It's been sitting in our garage ever since (way to dirty to bring in the house)!! So after deciding on the perfect color I got to it, and I have to say I love how it turned out and love this color. AS Aubusson Blue.
Here's a Before after I washed the whole thing down with Murphy 's Oil soap. The chest was missing one of the handles on the top so I removed them both, filled in the holes and added two new knobs. I really think my hubby thought I was losing it when I brought this one home;)
And here's the after. I love the patina the dark wax adds!
The draws where pretty plain so I glued these appliques on them.
I love the look it added.
Decided to leave the top part stained.
Original hardware just cleaned it up a bit.
One more before and after, I just love how this piece turned out!
I'll be back with another post to show you the vignette.
After working on this piece most of Saturday, here is what I found when I walked into the family room.
I guess Victoria got tired of waiting for her mama!
* My GIVEAWAY ends tonight at midnight*
Thanks so much for stopping by!
