One of my Favorites!

Today I am sharing one of my favorite projects from 2011, the transformation of our kitchen island! We did this project back in March and I love it just as much now as I did when it first got done.

 The BLAH before picture!

 Added beadboard and decorative molding.

We had the door and drawer fronts painted by a professional and I painted the rest.

This island makeover gave our kitchen a whole new look. I love it! Thank you for stopping by and always leaving such sweet comments! I appreciate them so much!!

  4. What a spectacular tranformation! It's beautiful and looks like a piece of furniture rather than an standard kitchen island.

  5. I really do love that transformation! It reminds me of my sisters black island in her kitchen. This gives your kitchen a more decorative quality (doesn't look so builder basic). Love the distressing on it too.

  16. Wow! I can't get over what a difference the change to black makes. It really creates a richer, more interesting room. The attention to details (beadboard and molding) really makes it look a grand piece of furniture. Great job!

  28. It adds so much more POW to your kitchen you know? Really spices it up and gives it such a custom look. But then, I'm a bit partial to white kitchens with black islands. ;-)

  32. So funny that I stumbled upon this post today Martina, because I was just saying yesterday how I'd love to paint my island black. I have all white like you do. My question is, what was the material that you painted over? Mine aren't wood - they are like a vinyl. Not sure if I can paint over it. Whatdya think???
