Adding Picture Molding In the Foyer

The hubby and I always loved the look of picture molding and how it changes the look of a room. Thankfully he watched and learned a lot of carpentry from my dad who is no longer with us, but I know he's making him proud! This is how the foyer has looked since we moved in and painted. The gold below the chair rail is the same color I painted our dining room so it did flow nicely, but it was in need of a change! Let's take a look at some of the before and afters.

My mom gave me this milk can it has to be over forty years old. Growing up it was in our den, my uncle painted it and added the fruit decals to it for her. I always love it!

Added a spring arrangement to the inside of the front door.

I love how it turned out and how it brightened everything up. Now on to doing the same thing in the dining room. That's our project this week!! I always love to here from you. Your comments make my day!!

  20. Hi Martina, Your foyer looks wonderful! Love the picture molding...Looks like you have a beautiful home.

Thanks for your visit today. I have gone from black to green on my island. I think I am going with green just because my kitchen is pretty small and black might be too much. I am also going to add glaze to the island. I'm hoping it turns out good! lol...I picked out a beautiful shade of green....Good luck with your island!!I bet it will turn out great...your lucky to have such a handy hubby! Kristen

  38. Hi Martina...

Ohhh...your new moulding looks fabulous, my friend! I loved the "before" look too but the this new moulding really brings a formal look into your beautiful home! Your honey did a great job putting it up!!! Love your old milk can...what a sweet family treasure! I have one outside of my back door on our porch. I painted one of those "stick family" drawings on it...of course with our own personal family! It turned out cute. I also really like your new spring wreath arrangement...sooo pretty! My friend, you have a gorgeous home...thank you for sharing it with us!!!

    Warmest wishes,
