~New Lamps~

Hey there friends!
Hope you all had a great weekend!
Made ANOTHER stop in Home Goods yesterday...
I really need to say away from that store!!
I found two of these lamps that screamed take me home...so home they came! They're made by Broyhill.

Here's the lamp that I've had on here...I've had them for years. They were dark brown and a few years ago I painted them to lightened them up a bit.
The matching one is on the hubby's nightstand.
Lamp #2 will be going here...only not on this nightstand!! I know I confusing right!?!

The pretty antique chest I gave you a little peek of the other day here will be going here. It's almost finished just waiting on two new knobs to get delivered.

Love the pretty glass base with the antique gold trim...they even came with these fabulous burlap lampshades. Doesn't the glass base remind you of a cloche?
A shot with the light on.
I'll be back to show you lamp #2 on the new chest next!
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Playing around with my new Nikon D5200

 Happy weekend friends!!
I'm having fun playing around with my new camera! For the last 5 years I've been using a Nikon D5000 and have been very happy with it. The lens that came with my old camera broke, and when I went to replace it with a new and better performance lens the cost was almost the same amount as buying a new camera...so that's what I opted for and bought the Nikon D5200.

Here are some shots taken with the new camera...
I did not photo edit any of these...they're straight from the camera...I just played around with a few different settings.
The difference between the two is the D5200 has a much higher picture resolution which makes for better picture quality.
I also purchased a zoom lens for this camera and can't wait to get outside and test it out...hurry up Spring!!
It's going to be fun learning how to use all it's new features.
Enjoy your weekend...I'm off to play a little more!
Maybe I can bribe the kids into letting me do a little photo shoot with them:)

Flea Market Finds & Another Snow Day!

Hey there friends...
A new indoor flea market opened up literally 5 minutes away from me...thank goodness they're only open on Saturday and Sunday!! I made my first trip there this past weekend and came home with some great finds...let's have a look...
This antique chair was the first thing I spotted. I will NOT be taking a paint brush to this piece...I love the finish on it and the pretty cane seat. It's new home is in my bedroom.

Next up I spied this demijohn and you'll never guess what I paid for it....are you ready $10!! At the same booth I also spied this pretty little tole tray...paid $10 for that too.
This little tray will be getting hung on my new gallery wall here
Now this last piece is the largest of my finds but you're only going to get a little peek of it...I know I'm mean;)
This beauty is in the process of getting a makeover... I can't wait to show you!!
Not bad for my first time there...right!?!

This is what I saw this morning when I opened the garage door to let Neena out!
Another foot of snow fell during the night.
After I made us all french toast for breakfast... the kids went outside to go tubing.

It's still snowing here... our fingers are crossed for a two-hour delay in the morning:)

Oh how I love thee...

With a title like that I should have saved this post for Valentines Day lol!
While my son and husband watched the Super Bowl...I worked on another paint project. I just love the way this little table turned out!
I had this table for years...it came from the Bombay Co. I had it in my living room for a while but it's been sitting in my storage room for about a year now.
It was a mahogany table that received a makeover a few years ago...here's what it looked like after the first paint makeover...do you guys remember this piece?
Here it is with it's new look...I painted it in AS Pure White and it now has a home in my son and youngest daughter's jack & jill bathroom.
It was the perfect piece to fill in this empty space.

This shell picture and set of wooden flip flops have been hanging in here for a few years now...I found them in  Home Goods.
Being my son and daughter share this bathroom I went with a beach theme.

I  heavily distressed  along all the edges...love seeing the darker wood come through!
My mom and I took a ceramics class together over 30 years ago and she made that shell...I added the ivy plant to it...it should do well in here with all the light from the window shining in.

More changes to come in here so stay tuned!
