A Country French Mantelscape

My mantel usually stays the same...I only change it during the Fall and Christmas seasons.
Here's how it looked for the past few years...
I still like this look but after taking the Christmas decorations down I was ready for a change.
Here's the new look...
I loved the way the Christmas wreath looked hanging in the frame so I decided to leave the frame and add a boxwood wreath that I had in my hoarding room!
I found these candlesticks in a decor shop before Christmas along with this demijohn.
Love old tattered books...they were great for adding some height.

Now for the other side...I think I bought every different size & shape candlestick they had!
Love the rusty patina on these.

I couldn't bear to throw out the poinsettia in the basket...it still looks so beautiful! Although it might not last too much longer with the fireplace constantly on!!
    A new year...A new look!
Thanks so much for stopping by!

A tale of a table

Hey there friends hope you all had a great weekend!
Last week I showed you guys the little piece I'm using in my kitchen that I made over using Maison Blanche paint in Wrought Iron...here's the other piece that received a makeover or should I say do-over!! (that happens a lot here!)
I had this piece quite a few years now it came from Home Decorators...a piece like this I don't mind painting over...I think it actually looks better painted.
I couldn't find a picture of it in it's original state, but here it is with it's first makeover using AS chalk paint in Old White...
It stayed that way for about a year then I whipped out the paint brush again and applied a coat of AS Coco and heavily distressed it...
Well the itch hit me again and here it is now in Wrought Iron by Maison Blanche...
This time I even changed out the knobs to these pretty ones I found in Hobby Lobby.
I just love seeing all the different layers of paint come through...and how all the details really pop.
It's back in it's original home in our sitting room.

Here it is in all it's different looks!
Thanks for stopping by...Have a super week!

Maison Blanche Paint~Wrought Iron

Hi Friends...
I started off the year with a few paint projects using a new to me paint Maison Blanche. I know it's been around and I'm sure some of you might have already tried it but this was a first for me and I have to say I LOVED IT!
The pieces I was using it on I wanted to paint black, so I used their color called Wrought Iron...my friends if you are looking for a true black this is it!
I found this cute little rattan piece at an antique shop for $12 right after Christmas.
I figured I could move this table back to it's original home in the family room and use this new piece here instead.
It just needed a good cleaning and a little makeover.
And now for the AFTER...
I shopped the house for accessories and used things I already had. The only thing that is new is the Le Creuset crock that I put my little evergreen tree in that I had from Christmas.
I'll let you in on a little secret...I copied this idea from Angela over at Number Fifty-Three ;)
I just lightly distressed the edges on this piece. I love how the original color looks with the black.

Another BEFORE...
and AFTER...

I'll show you the other piece I painted with Maison Blanche next!
Have a great week and thanks so much for stopping by!
