Just a Lil Something

The wall over Mackenzie's bed has been bugging me since we finished her room. The plaque over her bed just wasn't enough...it still needed a lil something!
Hobby Lobby to the rescue! I picked up this frame and a small initial. The frame was white and I spray painted it pumpkin orange and the gold initial got a coat of black. All these colors are in her bedding.
 Here's a before...
 After...

Much better:)
Hope your all having a great week!

French Ticking

 Happy Monday Friends!!
Has anyone seen the new french ticking curtains from Country Curtains...LOVE them!! They come in 4 different colors. I went with the green stripe for my living room but I love them so much I bought them for my dining room too in the red stripe. Have to wait a few weeks on those, they have to custom make them for me due to the long length that I need.

Your only getting little peeks today...there's lots of changes going on in here. This is the room in my house that always stresses me out!
The curtains alone made a big difference. I love how they lightened up the space.

Thanks so much for stopping by today, I love our visits!
The Doll's Tea Party at my kids school was a huge success YAY!! But I was a bad blogger and didn't have time to take any pictures:(
Hopefully my oldest did so I can show you.
Have a great week!

Taking a week off to host a Tea Party!

I'm taking the next week off...but before I get into that, I wanted to show you how pretty my tulips still look one week later. I wish I could make them last just like this.
Next Saturday my kids school is having a fundraiser that I'm in charge of. This is my second year running it. It's called a Doll's Tea Party. Every year we pick a different "location" to have it. Last year it fell on St. Patty's Day so the theme was a Doll's Tea Party in Ireland. In the past when others ran it they did Hawaii, Paris, & China. This year I decided to keep it local and do a day in
The Big Apple!
It takes months of planning. There's the invitations, decorations, food for both the kids and a cafe for the adults, activities, vendors, even a raffle table with beautiful prizes like American Girl Doll's and accessories. It's a lot of fun...I love doing it!
It's going to be a crazy week getting all the last minute things done, so I won't be posting this week...but I'll definitely need my fix of you guys so I'll be checking in when I have a chance:)
Have a great week!

Meet Antoinette

 Meet Antoinette....
I figured that would be a good name to call her since it's the color of the paint I used. I know I know real original LOL!
Santa brought my youngest daughter Victoria a 20 in. flat screen tv for her room, and she has been waiting patiently(NOT) for mommy to find the perfect table to put it on. I found nothing that I liked so I was just going to buy a skirt and table from Ballard...until I remembered this little table I had in our storage room holding our fax/copier.
Here's the Before...
Much cuter now...don't ya think?

I did a layered wash on all the beadboard panels using Annie Sloan's Antoinette, Old White and the original color of the cabinet too. I know this look isn't for everyone, but I love it. On this part I just used the clear wax.
Added these fun knobs I found in Hobby Lobby.

Now we have one very excited young girl :)

We had a few gorgeous days last week so I took that opportunity and painted outside...glad I did because it's cold again!!!
