My new/old table is done!

Hi there friends...I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving!
We sure did...and now I'm in Christmas full swing!!
But before I start showing you guys my Christmas decor...
I wanted you to see the pie table I made over.
I found the perfect spot for it in our living room.

The detail work on this table is so pretty!
Painting it really makes it all stand out.

Before...
After...I painted it AS Versailles then waxed it with both the clear and dark wax.
I love the way it turned out!
Happy Sunday and Happy Decorating!!

Now I have a pair!!

 Hi there friends...
I hope you all had a great weekend!
~~~
A few years ago one of my mom's friends was getting rid of a ginger jar that she had for years and asked if I would like it...YES PLEASE!
I usually have it in either my living room or dining room...
Then I started thinking about new decorating ideas for Christmas and knew I needed another one just like it so I could use them on the mantel in our family room.
 I searched Etsy and Ebay and boy was I shocked at how expensive they are!!
I finally found one on Ebay for a reasonable price and snatched it up before it was gone!
Here they are on my mantel...
the one on the right is the new one I just got.
 I simply added a few eucalyptus stems to them... kept it simple because come Friday I'll be in full Christmas decorating mode...as I know many of you will be.
Here's a peek at what I'm working on today...
another great find by my mom...she knew I would love it!
 Have a great week and a
Wonderful & Happy Thanksgiving!!
Changes in the Master Bedroom...just a peek
 Hi there friends...
 I've been working on giving our master bedroom a new look.
The biggest change is the new wall color...I went much lighter! I painted the room White Down by Ben. Moore. It's the same color I used a few months ago in our master bath.
~~~
Along with painting the walls I bit the bullet and painted my husbands highboy!
I know a lot of you might think I'm crazy for doing this but I was tired of all the dark wood in here. My husband thought I was crazy when I first mentioned it to him being we paid a lot for this set but as you can see I was able to persuade him lol!
My dresser and a smaller chest still have the dark stain...I like the contrast of dark wood with painted pieces in a room.
 I used my two favorite Annie Sloan colors...Chateau Grey And Versailles.
Remember the Before...
 I started by painting the piece in Versailles.
 Then I added a coat of Chateau Grey...I wanted a layered look when I sanded it.
I finished it off with both the clear and dark waxes.
I love how paint makes all the detail work pop!

Remember the oil painting I had in my living room leaning against the chippy shutters...I thought it would be perfect in here now...still loving it unframed.
 The painting wasn't enough on the wall so I added a roe antler above it.

I'm so happy with the changes being made in here!

2014 Thanksgiving Tablescape ~ Rustic Elegance

 Hi there friends...
I am honored to be one of the bloggers chosen by Sherry No Minimalist Here to participate in her Thanksgiving Vignette blog hop!!
~~~
I decided to put together a casual tablescape for Thanksgiving using everything I had on hand...
that even included the roses!
I shopped the house and grabbed things from different rooms...I even grabbed some of the baby boos I had in one of my lanterns outside.
I love how you can create something pretty without spending a dime!
I started by placing a piece of burlap on the table... instead of using one of my typical runners or tablecloths.
 Then the layering began starting with my favorite chargers that I bought from Nell Hill's a few years ago.
I used my white everyday dishes...
pretty cloth napkins...
my small blue dishes...
and a baby boo pumpkin to complete the setting.
 I bought these blue and white dishes in Home Goods over the summer.
They came as a set of four...love how they all have a different pattern on them.
I pulled out my MIL silverware and tied them with a piece of ribbon...adding a little cheetah print is always fun!
~~~

My MIL is no longer with us...my husband and I are very thankful to have this set!
I found this little brass tray at a flea market I frequent.
I love it...it travels around the house quite a bit!

Aren't these roses pretty!
The two toned ones are my favorite...the colors are perfect for Fall!
Who wants to come join me for lunch:-)

Just when I thought I took enough pictures the sun started to shine so brightly in one of the windows...I couldn't resist...so I took a few more ;-)

Thanks so much for stopping by...and thank you Sherry for including me in this fun event!
