Living Room~The Revised Tour

In the last few months I've done a little changing and tweaking to our living room. I know I've done posts on the changes, so I hope your not getting sick of seeing this room but I thought I'd show you them all put together. I think I finally have this room the way I want it! But if you ask the hubby he'll say the way you want it until next week!! He really is so good, he just goes with the flow.

New lamp and added the burlap table skirt to the table.

Love the fringe

New pillows added to the couch.

                               New/Old table found at yardsale.

And my favorite change of all was changing the rocker that was originally here to this french beauty my mom bought for me as an early birthday present.

Hope you all enjoyed the revised tour of my living room. As always I look forward to your visits and enjoy reading all your wonderful comments! They make my day:)   Martina

One more post and I"ll be at my 100th post! Now that calls for a giveaway so stay tuned!

A Hot Spot.....

.... and it's not what your thinking! My poor little guy Toby has a hot spot. Never heard of this before because this is the first time in 14 yrs this has ever happened to him. My vet said it can be caused by an insect bite or even allergies! It's very itchy and irritating to them and needs to be treated with antibiotic and a prescribed ointment. One good thing is that it is in a spot that he can't get to and make it worse.

Not pretty looking at all! And he just went to the groomers on Thursday:(

I love this little guy, so needless to say he's getting a little more spoiled then he already is:)

Has anyone ever had this happen to their pet before? This is all new to me!

Here's a few Fall touches I worked on yesterday.

That's it for now! But after seeing all the beautiful inspiration out here in blogland I think my mantel is next on the list! Have a great week:)

Skirting Another Table

6:03PM
I loved how the table in my living room HERE looked when I added the burlap table skirt from Ballard Designs. When I saw they were having a sale a few weeks ago I decided to by another one for my family room. This time I went with the toffee check fabric. I really love how it filled this corner in now!

What is it with men and their recliners! It's OK but I vision another style their. I guess we have to keep our hubbies happy too:)

Do you like the look of a skirted table?
Thanks so much for stopping by!

A Switcharoo!

Did a quick switcharoo in my living room! Remember that yardsale table I found HERE I finally found a home for it. Left it in it's original state too, just gave it a good cleaning!

                                               BEFORE

                                     Same vignette on top

Added this ginger jar to the bottom shelf. My mom's friend gave it to me, and I thought it went nicely with the blue and white pieces I have on top.

Close up of the details on the legs

I'm liking this little change and I'm glad I decided not to paint it! What do you guy's think?

Thanks so much for stopping by, I always enjoy our visit's:)

It was hard to let go!

It was hard letting this table go after I painted it. Well I guess I had to since it wasn't mine to begin with! My cousin loves all the pieces that I painted in my house and asked if I would do this sofa table for her. Of course, what's family for!

                                         Here's the Before...

                                      and here's the After....

I used AS chalk paint (of course) I painted the whole thing in old ochre and then randomly painted over it in Chateau grey to give it an old worn look. I then sanded and distressed it. I used my mocha glaze by valspar, heavy on the legs and on the top and sides I wiped most of it off. After that dried I waxed the whole piece with AS clear wax.

                                       Look at that shine!

Hmm....    I'm thinkin this would look good in MY living rm.

It doesn't even look like the same table to me, and my cousin loved it!! Now she asked if I would paint two shelves for her. Why not, it's another blog post right! Thanks so much for stopping by!
